You’ll meet 60 artists and artisans in their studios, learn about their techniques and treat yourself to great original art at studio prices! Stop by the RiverArts Gallery to help plan your itinerary and preview examples of each artist’s work. You won’t have time to visit them all ... so come back next year! It’s FREE!

METAL, GLASS & WOOD ART • FURNITURERiverArts is a member-supported, nonprofit organization that provides arts programming for the community, promotes the talents of our local artists and artisans, and strives to nurture a climate of creativity on the Eastern Shore. We offer classes, lectures, one-day demonstrations and weekend workshops that teach skills at various levels. RiverArts instructors are talented and experienced artists or artisans who love to teach and work with students of all ages. Many participate in the studio tour and holiday sale.RiverArts Gallery: RiverArts showcases arts and crafts with exhibits displaying work by regional artists and artisans. All items are handmade and most are under $100. She walks the banks of the Chesapeake for vistas, oyster shells, ancestral houses and depicts the experience in traditional paintings and prints. They are the synthesis of her life experiences and the places she has lived and traveled. Her love of opera, books, and cooking are elements of her expression on the two-dimensional spaces. His studio has tables, bureaus and Murphy beds on display. Bob enjoys conversing with the furniture enthusiast and explaining his studio, which has machines mounted on wheels for driveway operation.> From Rt. 213 south turn left onto Anthony Road, first left after the bridge. Finished guitars designed by various artists are prominently displayed at events throughout Maryland. She works primarily in pastels and acrylics and has studied with colorist Sam Feinstein of New York. Horses, cows, and landscapes are among her favored subjects, reflecting her years as a horsewoman, riding instructor, and her life on a dairy farm. He paints in both oils and pastels in the realist style working both in the studio and en plein air. His favorite subjects are the human form and the cityscape where some collectors have suggested a resemblance in style to Edward Hopper. His paintings focus on the captivating effect of bright light on the subject and present themselves as “postcards” of familiar places. 54. RICK BISGYER Porcelain Pottery 321 Ericsson Ave. Betterton, Md. 21610 941-524-2720 [email protected] Rick was surrounded by graceful curves of both fine ceramic art and sailboats in his youth. Inspired by his family’s collection of contemporary pottery he studied ceramics in Washington, D.C. while choosing sailing as his first profession. Currently teaching for Baltimore Clayworks and RiverArts at ASPS, Rick has juried into national shows as a full time ceramic artist for the last 10 years. He creates curving sails rising as a motif in his work, with inspiration drawn from his love of sailing. Rick’s new work continues to evolve, influenced by his life on the Bay and Eastern Shore, where he

She works mostly in watercolor and explores a diverse range of subject matter. She is best known for her scenes of the Chesapeake Bay and the Eastern Shore, but enjoys painting some of the more exotic locations of her travels. Her training is a sandwich of formal art school training, surrounded by self-teaching and investigation. Georgetown Pottery’s birdhouses range from the simple elegance of an English country cottage to whimsical notions from a children’s book, providing a most inspiring space for our feathered friends. Joan and her friends will be demonstrating a Raku firing. > Going north on Rt.213 from Chestertown, turn left at the light in Galena. Continue on Rt.213 going toward Georgetown and the Sassafras River. Just past the Kitty Knight House (which is on the left) on the right there will be a white post with a fish on top.
