For a great weekend adventure take RiverArts’ annual studio tour through historic Chestertown and picturesque Kent and Queen Anne’s Counties. You’ll meet 60 artists and artisans in their studios, learn about their techniques and treat yourself to great original art at studio prices! Stop by the RiverArts Gallery to help plan your itinerary and preview examples of each artist’s work. You won’t have time to visit them all ... so come back next year! It’s FREE!

METAL, GLASS & WOOD ART • FURNITURERiverArts is a member-supported, nonprofit organization that provides arts programming for the community, promotes the talents of our local artists and artisans, and strives to nurture a climate of creativity on the Eastern Shore. We offer classes, lectures, one-day demonstrations and weekend workshops that teach skills at various levels. RiverArts instructors are talented and experienced artists or artisans who love to teach and work with students of all ages. Many participate in the studio tour and holiday sale.RiverArts Gallery: RiverArts showcases arts and crafts with exhibits displaying work by regional artists and artisans. They are the synthesis of her life experiences and the places she has lived and traveled. Her love of opera, books, and cooking are elements of her expression on the two-dimensional spaces. Sihnja teaches Sumie Painting locally and at the Academy of Art in Easton, Md. His studio has tables, bureaus and Murphy beds on display. Inspired by his family’s collection of contemporary pottery he studied ceramics in Washington, D.C. while choosing sailing as his first profession. Currently teaching for Baltimore Clayworks and RiverArts at ASPS, Rick has juried into national shows as a full time ceramic artist for the last 10 years. He creates curving sails rising as a motif in his work, with inspiration drawn from his love of sailing. Georgetown Pottery’s birdhouses range from the simple elegance of an English country cottage to whimsical notions from a children’s book, providing a most inspiring space for our feathered friends.
