“Korean Government Scholarship Program for Graduate Study”

Pledge (서약서)

As an applicant for the 2014 “Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP) for Graduate Study”, I pledge to abide by the following rules:

(1) To refrain from violation of university regulations and to fulfill my obligations as a KGSP scholar to the best of my ability.

(2) To behave in a manner appropriate to Korean culture and society, and not to participate in any form of political activity (such as organizing a political party, joining a political party, attending political meetings, publishing political articles and declarations, organizing or participating in demonstrations of a political nature, and so on).

(3) To accept responsibility for paying any debts incurred in Korea(4) To agree with NIIED's decision concerning the graduate program and the Korean

language course (5) To abide by all terms and regulations set by NIIED.(6) To permit NIIED to use my personal information for the KGSP.

If I am proved to have violated any of the above or to have made a false statement in my

PERSONAL MEDICAL ASSESSMENTApplicants are not required to undergo an authorized medical exam before passing the 2nd Selection with NIIED; however, all successful candidates must take a comprehensive medical exam when its’ orientation (including an HIV and TBPE drug test**, etc) in accordance with the requirements of the Korea Immigration Service and the KGSP. If the results show that the applicant is unfit to study and live overseas more than 3 years, he/she may be disqualified.**The TBPE (tetrabromophenolphthalein ethyl ester) drug tests are for evaluating past usage of stimulant drugs.

1. 목적

외국인 학생에게 대한민국의 고등교육기관에서 수학할 기회를 부여함으로써 국제교육교류를 촉진 하고 국가 간 우호증진을 도모하고자 함

2. 모집 인원 : 880명

o 재외공관(대사관) 배정 인원 : 533명 (157개국)♦ 공관 배정인원 533명 중 25명은 해외입양인 별도 배정인원이며, 입양인(12개국)은 입양인 배정국가의 재외공관에 지원서를

4. 2014 선발 주요내용o 2014년도 지원자는 재외공관 또는 국내위탁대학 둘 중 하나를 통해서만 지원해야 함※해외입양인도 입양인 배정인원이 배정된 국가의 한국대사관을 통해서만 지원가능

o 장학생 심사 후 최종적으로 지망대학의 입학허가를 취득해야 장학생으로 확정됨 o 지원서 접수 및 후보추천 기관 : 재외공관(대사관) 또는 60개 국내위탁대학 ※ 지원자는 공관 또는 대학 중 한곳으로만 지원 가능하며, 이중지원자는 불합격됨

o 전형방법

-1차 전형 : 추천기관(공관, 대학)에서 원서를 접수하여 선발기준(NIIED)에 근거 심사 후 후보 추천

-2차 전형(NIIED) : 1차 선정 후 추천된 후보자들을 대상으로 “장학생선정위원회”에서 종합심사

-3차 전형(대학) : 2차에 합격한 공관추천자를 대상으로 각 대학별 입학심사 후 장학생 최종확정

※ 대학을 통해 지원한 후보자는 2차 합격 후, Orientation에서 건강검진을 거친 후 최종 장학생으로 확정됨

o 진학대학 결정

- 재외공관(입양인 포함) 추천후보자는 2차 합격 후, 60개의 위탁대학 중에서 본인이 지원한 3개 대의 입학심사를 받으며, 입학허가를

받은 후 최종 1대학을 선택하여 그 대학으로 진학함

- 국내대학 추천후보자는 2차 합격 후, 본인이 지원한 그 대학으로 자동으로 진학 확정

5. 초청 및 장학금 지급기간

o 석사 (3년) : 2014.9.1 ~ 2017.8.31 (한국어연수 1년 + 학위과정 2년)

o 박사 (4년) : 2014.9.1 ~ 2018.8.31 (한국어연수 1년 + 학위과정 3년)

※2014 년 대학원장학생은 학위과정 ( 석사 2 년 , 박사 3 년 ) 종료 후 장학기간 연장은 불가함

(2012 학년 장학생부터 적용됨 )

TOPIK 5※ 급 이상으로 한국어연수를 면제받은 경우, 그 면제받은 기간만큼 전체 장학기간은 감소됨

6. 한국어연수

o 1년간 한국어 연수과정 후, 학위과정 진학(TOPIK 3급 이상을 취득한 자만 허가)

o 연수기간 : 1년(의무사항)

* 모든 장학생은 NIIED 가 지정 배치한 한국어 연수기관에서 1 년 간 한국어연수를 받아야 함 .

단, 한국어능력시험(TOPIK) 5급 이상 취득자는 한국어연수를 면제함

* 1년 한국어연수 후 TOPIK 3급 미 취득자는 추가연수를 6개월 간 추가 실시함

o 연수기관 : NIIED에서 지정한 우수 한국어연수기관 (12개 내외 예정) 중 1곳에 배정

* 한국어연수기관은 NIIED 가 배정하며 , 배정된 한국어연수기관 변경은 불가 .

7. 지원 자격

o 지원자 및 부모가 모두 외국국적을 가진 외국인 ※ 지원자가 한국국적을 가진 이중국적자는 지원불가

o 한국에서의 장기간 유학이 가능할 정도로 심신이 건강한 자※지원 시 자가건강체크리스트(Personal Medical Assessment)를 제출하고, 장기간 해외수학에 지장이 있는 심각한 질병 발견 시 합

격이 취소됨. 한국 입국 후, NIIED 가 주관하는 건강검진 ( 오리엔테이션 OT) 을 의무적으로 실시하며 , 심각한 질병 (HIV, 마약류 기 장기간 수학이 어렵다고 판단되는 질병 등타 ) 발견 시 합격이 취소됨.

※ 임신을 한 자는 지원할 수 없음 (건강검진결과 임신인 자는 장학 자격 실생 상 )o 2014년 9월 1일 기준 만 40세 미만인 자 (1974년 9월 1일 이후 출생자)

- (1차 전형) 공관에서 배정 인원의 1.5배수 내의 후보자를 선발하여 NIIED에 추천

※ 중국 및 체코지원자는 협정에 따라 자국 교육부에서 1 차 선발함 . 지원서를 자국 교육부에 제출

※입양인지원자는 인원이 배정된 자국의 한국공관에 지원서를 제출하며, 공관에서 선발 추천함

- (2차 전형) NIIED에서 추천된 후보자의 자격요건을 심사, 2차 합격자 선정

- (3차 전형) NIIED는 2차 합격 후보자의 3개 지망대학에 지원서류 송부 및 입학심사 요청

※대학은 입학심사 후 그 결과를 후보자에게 알려주며, 후보자는 입학허가를 받은 최종 1대학을

선택하여 NIIED에 통보하고, NIIED는 입학허가를 받은 후보자에 한해 최종 합격을 발표함

o 국내대학 지원자

- (1차 전형) 위탁대학은 배정인원이 배정된 전 국가를 대상으로 20 명까지 선발하여 NIIED 에 추천

PERSONAL MEDICAL ASSESSMENTApplicants are not required to undergo an authorized medical exam before passing the 2nd Selection with NIIED; however, all successful candidates must take a comprehensive medical exam when its’ orientation (including an HIV and TBPE drug test**, etc) in accordance with the requirements of the Korea Immigration Service and the KGSP. If the results show that the applicant is unfit to study and live overseas more than 3 years, he/she may be disqualified.**The TBPE (tetrabromophenolphthalein ethyl ester) drug tests are for evaluating past usage of stimulant drugs.
