Are the previous jobs listed relevant to the job I am applying for? 2. If career goals and objectives are listed, do they match the role applying I’m for? 3. Is my previous employment listed in date order with the most recent first? 4. Have I included dates for jobs, including year and month? Have I explained any large gaps in employment? 5. Have I explained reasons for leaving where they are not obvious? 6. Is there personal information that is not relevant to the job? e.g. date of birth, marital status. 7. Is my resume well formatted, consistent and easy to read? e.g. same font and size used throughout. 8. Have I included any unnecessary pictures, graphics, colours or photos? If I have included a photo, is it a professional head shot? (no selfies, bad cropping or pics taken on a night out) 9. Is the email address Im sending my resume from appropriate? 10. If referees are listed are they current? Have I contacted them to advise they are my referee? 11. If including a cover letter, is it addressed to someone specific such as the hiring manager? 12. Is the organisation name and contact person name spelt correctly? 13. Are my contact details clear and easy to find on my resume? 14. Is the language used professional with correct grammar and no spelling mistakes? Have I asked someone to proof read my application? 15. Am I going to send the application from my mobile device? If so, is that appropriate for the position? Will the formatting, layout and attachments appear as I want them to?
