Detailed view (with tolerances)

VSUPPLY – VEXHAUST = VDIFF

1500 m3/h - 1300 m3/h = 200 m3/h

=> 35 Pa with 0,01 m2 room leakage

With tolerances ± 7,5 %

1500 m3/h ± 7,5 % = ± 112,5 m3/h

VMAXDIFF = 200 + 112,5 = 312,5 m3/h

VMINDIFF = 200 - 112,5 = 87,5 m3/h

∆pMIN=6,8 Pa∆pMAX=87,2 Pa

pressure range 6,8…35…87,2 !!!

=> not acceptable!!!

Room pressure with VAV - Controller

RESULT: Room pressure with CAV/VAV - ControllerEven with very low tolerances not suitable in airtight rooms (small room leakage)

air volume, room volume and room leakagehave strong impact on differential pressure

SOLUTION: Room pressure with pressure controller CRPBetter than CAV/VAV - Controller but even notsatisfying in airtight rooms (very small roomleakage)

be careful with high air volume and very small roomleakage

Room pressure with VAV - Controller

RESULT: Room pressure with pressure controller CRPAcceptable with high resolution actuator and non hysteresis actuator in airtight rooms(room leakage > 0,01 m2)

not suitable in airtight rooms(room leakage < 0,01 m2)

SOLUTION: Air volume priorised constant room pressurecontroller VCP (European-Patent)

Highest accuracy in the market with electricalcontroller

Very stable control even in airtight rooms withroom leakage < 0,001 m2

equals to 1mm clearance between door frame and door leave!!

=> 35 Pa with 0,001 m2 room leakage => Air volume VDIFFERENTIAL = 20 m3/h

With tolerances:

1. Air volume: 1500 m3/h ± 7,5 % = ± 112,5 m3/h

2. Room pressure: ± 112,5 m3/h ± 0,5 % (VCP-resolution) = ± 0,5625 m3/h

35 Pa => VDIFFERENTIAL = 20 m3/h

VMAXDIFF = 20 + 0,5625 = 20,56 m3/h

VMINDIFF = 20 – 0,5625 = 19,44 m3/h

∆pMIN=33,75 Pa ∆pMAX=37,75 Pa

Advantages of the VCP and room pressure control via bypass:very high resolution of the actuator in the bypass. Controlling of the roompressure via actuator with Direct-Drive-Modus (no hysteresis, resolution < 0,5 °)

avoids oscillating of the system

multitasking system with one common microprocessor unit and internalcommunicating between air volume control device and pressure controldevice

max. allowed range of ± 3 Pa always possible, even over different pressure steps

suitable for controlling of safety laboratory class S1-S4 as well as clean room class A-D

for controlling laboratory class S4 it is mandatory for safety reasonsto use redundant systems

Volume priorised pressure controller VCP

Page 18: 15 R_Bufé New room pressure technology

AirSystem LabSystem Clean room

18

More advantages of the VCP:sudden loss of room pressure (open of door or window) will berecongised and the damper gets „freezed“ for a certain time (max. 20 s)

no door contacts needed

very precise and stable room pressure control system

room pressure damper (bypass) always between 20…80 % => good control position

complete parametrising via service module SVM100 or PC-softwarePC2500

suitable for safety laboratory with very high airtight doors and rooms(e.g. animal laboratory)

suitable for supply or exhaust air systems

BMS controlling via network. LON, BACnet or Modbus available
