    Welcome

Prelude “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty” P. Manz

    + PREPARATION +

    Please Stand

Psalm 46 P God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. C Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved

into the heart of the sea, P though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. C There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most

High. P God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. C The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts. P The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. C Come, behold the works of the LORD, how he has brought desolations on the earth. P He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he

burns the chariots with fire. C “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in

the earth!” The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.

Processional Hymn “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty” LSB #790

Praise to the Lord! O let all that is in me adore Him!

All that has life and breath, come now with praises before Him!

Let the Amen, Sound from His people again; Gladly forever adore Him!

    LITURGY NOTATIONS

Prelude Music helps draw us into an attitude of prayer and praise. Processional Hymn We are a "singing church," so we follow the advice of the apostle Paul to teach and admonish "one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord" (Colossians 3:16). This hymn may be one of praise, prayer, or reflection on the season of the church year.

Invocation P In the name of the Father and of the T Son and of the Holy Spirit. C Amen.

Confession of Sins P Our help is in the name of the Lord, C who made heaven and earth. P If You, O Lord, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand? C But with You there is forgiveness; therefore You are feared. P Since we are gathered to hear God’s Word, call upon Him in prayer and praise, and receive

the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ in the fellowship of this altar, let us first consider our unworthiness and confess before God and one another that we have sinned in thought, word, and deed, and that we cannot free ourselves from our sinful condition. Together as His people let us take refuge in the infinite mercy of God, our heavenly Father, seeking His grace for the sake of Christ, and saying: God, be merciful to me, a sinner.

C Almighty God, have mercy upon us, forgive us our sins, and lead us to everlasting life. Amen.

Absolution P Almighty God in His mercy has given His Son to die for you and for His sake forgives you all

your sins. As a called and ordained servant of Christ, and by His authority, I therefore forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the T Son and of the Holy Spirit.

    C Amen.

    Kyrie

Hymn of Praise “Gloria in Excelsis” LSB page 204

    LITURGY NOTATIONS

Invocation From the Latin “to call upon.” The spoken words at the beginning of the service remind us of our Baptism Confession We examine ourselves and publicly confess our sins. Such a confession at the beginning of the service provides a climate of acceptance. In spite of our sins, we are accepted by God, and in turn we can accept each other. *I John 1:8-10 [Rom. 7:14-8:4] Absolution Christ said to his disciples, "If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven"*. The pastor speaks for God and announces God's cleansing forgiveness to those who made confession. *John 20:23.

Prayer of the Day P The Lord be with you. C And also with you. P Let us pray. C O God, our refuge and strength, the author of all godliness, hear the devout prayers of

Your Church, especially in times of persecution, and grant that what we ask in faith we may obtain; through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Old Testament Reading 2 Kings 6:8-18 Once when the king of Syria was warring against Israel, he took counsel with his servants, saying, “At such and such a place shall be my camp.” But the man of God sent word to the king of Israel, “Beware that you do not pass this place, for the Syrians are going down there.” And the king of Israel sent to the place about which the man of God told him. Thus he used to warn him, so that he saved himself there more than once or twice. And the mind of the king of Syria was greatly troubled because of this thing, and he called his servants and said to them, “Will you not show me who of us is for the king of Israel?” And one of his servants said, “None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.” And he said, “Go and see where he is, that I may send and seize him.” It was told him, “Behold, he is in Dothan.” So he sent there horses and chariots and a great army, and they came by night and surrounded the city. When the servant of the man of God rose early in the morning and went out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was all around the city. And the servant said, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” He said, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed and said, “O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. And when the Syrians came down against him, Elisha prayed to the LORD and said, “Please strike this people with blindness.” So he struck them with blindness in accordance with the prayer of Elisha.

L This is the Word of the Lord. C Thanks be to God!

Epistle Reading 2 Corinthians 10:1-7 I, Paul, myself entreat you, by the meekness and gentleness of Christ—I who am humble when face to face with you, but bold toward you when I am away!— I beg of you that when I am present I may not have to show boldness with such confidence as I count on showing against some who suspect us of walking according to the flesh. For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete. Look at what is before your eyes. If anyone is confident that he is Christ’s, let him remind himself that just as he is Christ’s, so also are we.

L This is the Word of the Lord. C Thanks be to God!

Gospel Reading Luke 10:1-6, 17-20 P The Holy Gospel according to St. Luke, the 10th chapter. C Glory to You, O Lord.

After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go. And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. Go your way; behold, I am sending you out as lambs in the midst of wolves. Carry no moneybag, no knapsack, no sandals, and greet no one on the road. Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house!’ And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him. But if not, it will return to you. The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

P This is the Gospel of the Lord. C Praise to You, O Christ.

Apostles’ Creed I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life T everlasting. Amen.

The Apostles’ Creed Written by St. Ambrose in about 390 AD in honor of the 12 Apostles and their confession of faith. Prayer of the Church Since God’s people are called to ‘pray without ceasing’ (1 Thess. 5:17), we take this time to collect all our prayers to pray with one heart and mind as the people of God. Offering Our words reflect the words God spoke to Abraham, “I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.” (Genesis 12:2)

A Thank you, Lord, for blessing us so that we may be a blessing to others.

    + SACRAMENT +

Preface P The Lord be with you. C And also with you.

P Lift up your hearts. C We lift them to the Lord.

P Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. C It is right to give Him thanks and praise.

P It is truly good, right, and salutary that we should at all times and in all places give thanks to You, O Lord, holy Father, almighty and everlasting God, for the countless blessings You so freely bestow on us and all creation. Above all, we give thanks for Your boundless love shown to us when You sent Your only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ, into our flesh and laid on Him our sin, giving Him into death that we might not die eternally. Because He is now risen from the dead and lives and reigns to all eternity, all who believe in Him will overcome sin and death and will rise again to new life. Therefore with angels and archangels and with all the company of heaven we laud and magnify Your glorious name, evermore praising You and saying:

    Sanctus

Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9–13) P Lord, remember us in Your kingdom and teach us to pray: C Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done

on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Communion Confession P The Lord’s Supper is God’s gift for Christians who are properly instructed. (1 Cor. 10:17; Act

2:42) In communing, we want people to receive Christ’s body and blood for their good. (1 Cor. 11:23-32) This means that as you come to the Lord’s Table you affirm with each communicant that Jesus is your Savior and Lord; and with Lutheran Christians you confess:

C I recognize and confess that I am a sinner. I repent of my sin and ask God’s forgiveness. C I believe that Jesus Christ is my only Lord and Savior from sin, Satan and death. C I believe that the risen Christ is really present in the Sacrament and, under the form of the

bread and wine, I receive His true body and blood for the forgiveness of my sin and the strengthening of my faith and life. (Augsburg Confession – Article X)

    LITURGY NOTATIONS

Preface Preface means "introduction." The pastor and people get ready to celebrate the Holy Meal by greeting each other and with an exhortation as how to celebrate the meal. * Cf. "Salutation"; Lam. 3:41; Ps. 86.4. Sanctus Sanctus is a Latin word meaning "Holy." The Sanctus contains words from Isaiah's vision of God (Isaiah 6:3) and the crowd's response on Palm Sunday when Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem (Matthew 21:9). We join them in spirit by singing their words as we anticipate Christ’s coming in the sacrament. * Is. 6:3; Matt. 21:9 (Mk 11:9); Ps. 118:25-26.

Lord’s Prayer We pray to God as our Father using the prayer of the family of God* because the Lord's Supper is our family meal. * Matt. 6:9ff; Luke 11:2ff

    LITURGY NOTATIONS

Words of Our Lord The pastor speaks the words which Jesus spoke when He instituted the Supper with His disciples in the Upper Room. With these words the bread and wine are consecrated, that is, set apart for God's use in the special meal. * 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Matthew 26:26-28; Mark 14:22-24; Luke 22:19-20. Agnus Dei Agnus Dei is a Latin phrase meaning "Lamb of God." John the Baptist spoke these words as he pointed to Jesus coming toward him (John 1:29). As Christ comes to us in the Holy Supper, we recognize him as the Lamb of God sacrificed for us to free us from the bondage of sin and death. * John 1:29; Is. 53:7. Post-Communion Canticle "Thank the Lord," "Lord, now let Your servant go in peace," or an appropriate hymn is sung. The purpose is to offer our thanks and express our faith in what God has done for us and promised to do for us in the future. * "Lord, now you let Your servant go in peace", Luke 2:29f.

Post-Communion Collect P Let us pray. . . We give thanks to You, almighty God, that You have refreshed us through this

salutary gift, and we implore You that of Your mercy You would strengthen us through the same in faith toward You and in fervent love toward one another; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Freedom from Debt for Future Ministry

    Freedom for Advancing Christ Together

Dear Friends and Family of Lamb of God Lutheran Church,

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! I have had the pleasure of serving our congregation for seven years.

I began my service to Lamb of God in January of 2013 as Director of Girl’s Ministry. Although I was callable at the

time, as a part time position, I did not pursue an official call. 2014 Lamb of God experienced staffing transitions and

I took over as Interim Director of Youth Ministry. We had additional changes in 2019 in which I took on the title of

Family Life Director, working with Children’s and Youth Ministry. I am excited to share with you that I am now

officially a called worker serving Lamb of God as our Director of Family Life Ministry and Director of Christian

    Ministries (DCM).

It is so incredible to be able to serve my home church. You helped raise me in the faith of Jesus as a child in baptism.

Growing in my faith as a young child, attending LOG’s first preschool class. Guiding me as a teenager in confirmation

instruction, youth group and youth mission trips. Supporting me in college as I attended Concordia Wisconsin,

pursue Youth Ministry and Missions. Affirming me as I completed my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

at the University of North Texas. Lamb of God has truly become my extended Christian family. I am so thankful for

    the village of LOG.

To our children and youth of Lamb of God, you are one of the biggest blessings in my life and in our Prindiville

family. I guess you could say Gary and I went backwards in the life cycle of parenting development, working first

with college students in the Station Ministry, then youth ministry and then children ministry. Great practice for our

    Prindiville family.

Children and youth, thank you for loving me, trusting me, and the gift of your friendship. Your

faith in Jesus inspires me every day. Thank you, for being big brothers and big sisters to our

children. We have the best children and youth families at LOG, and I praise God for you!

I am grateful to serve alongside you as we continue to support our families in loving,

    outreaching, and growing in Jesus!
