I have chosen drama because most films I watch are dramas and I am more formulary with this genre and its conventions than other film genre

Conventions

dramatic narrative structure: Conflict is the essence of drama, and the purpose of a dramatic story line is to move the audience in some emotional way. There is usually a struggle going on that is wrought with hardships, difficulty, and pain and generally have a happy ending.

Why I chose drama

Slum dog millionaire is a film I have watched and I found it inspirational because the way it is set out and filmed is different and has a lot of flashbacks to explain the movie

It meets the conventions of a drama film because through out the film it shows the conflict between him and the presenter of who wants to be a millionaire also you get moved emotional when it shows all the pain and hardship he went through all his life

This film meets the conventions because the difficulty in his life cause the audience to empathise with him and he has conflicts with his fathers old student (boxing)but after all the problems he has a happy ending

Revenge

A girl is cheated on and finds out her anger quickly turns into hate and she seeks revenge on him

A girl is obsessed over a boy her best friend's boyfriend who she stole from her and she will stop at nothing to get him back

A old friend turns up with revenge in mind then takes a perfect opportunity when victims close friends decide to play a practical joke on him and it goes wrong

What's going to happen in my whole story

1. A group of mates are hanging out

2. They make a new friend (not knowing who she is )while waiting for their mate to come

3. They decide to play a joke on him

4. She decides to make it more dangerous then intended

5. The trick doesn't go to plan and he gets hurt

6. Now all they have to do is find out who

What's going to happen in my open sequence

1. The group of mates will meet up

2. They make a new friend while waiting for mate to come

3. They decide to play a joke on mate

4. not knowing the new friend seeks revenge on there mate

5. New friend makes trick a lot more dangerous then intended

I'm going to create enigma by my opening scene by showing why the guy wants revenge so when you see him join the group of mates it will make you wonder what's going to happen and also I'm going to end it just after the play the trick so the audience will want to watch the rest
