Over the past 39 years, the Rainbow Project has provided restorative healing and hope to 13,426 children and 13,020 adult caregivers in our community who have experienced trauma, such as child abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, domestic violence, and/or community violence.

Rainbow Project services are needed now more than ever. Nearly 700,000 children are abused annually in the United States- in 2018 there were over 6,000 reports made to Child Protective Services in Dane County alone.

The specialized prevention and early intervention techniques used by Rainbow Project therapists disrupt and help heal the all-too-often cyclical and multi-generational trauma experienced by families. For every $1 spent on prevention & early intervention, we end up saving $28 in the long run on chronic health issues, mental illness, substance abuse treatment, unemployment, poor school performance, and juvenile & adult crime.
