COACHING STAFFHead Coach,Jason GarrettPro Career: Named the eighth headcoach in Dallas Cowboys history onJanuary 5, 2011 and became the first for-mer Cowboys player to become theteam’s head coach. Named the club’sinterim head coach at the midpoint of the2010 season and went on to guide aDallas team that had started the seasonwith a 1-7 record to a 5-3 mark down thestretch. Since the 2007 season Garretthad been the Cowboys offensive coordi-nator, and in 2008, he was assigned theadditional duties of being the club’s assis-tant head coach. Under Garrett, the Dallasoffense finished among the NFL’s top-10three times: 2010 (10th), 2009 (2nd), and2007 (2nd). From 2007 to 2009 thecumulative numbers for total net yards(17,753), gross yards (12,761) and pass-ing yards (12,181) represented the besttotals over a three-year span in the histo-ry of the organization. En route to winningthe 2009 NFC Eastern Division title, Dallasestablished club records for total offen-sive yards (6,390), net passing yards(4,287) and pass completions (347).Dallas won the NFC East in 2007 with ateam-record tying 13 victories and fin-ished second in the NFL in scoring.Garrett was named Pro Football Weekly’sNFL’s Assistant Coach of the Year inMarch of 2008. Career record: 13-11.Background: Played quar terback atPrinceton (1987-88) and was named theIvy League’s Player of the Year and hon-orable mention All American as a senior.Played professionally in World Leagueand Canadian Football League (both1991) before joining Dallas (1992-99),Giants (2000-03), Buccaneers (2004)and Dolphins (also 2004).
