A certified nursing assistant and a certified medication aide aren't the same even though they both work with patients. Requirement for CNA and CMA Certification   If you want to become a certified nursing assistant you

should have completed 18 years of age and high school or GED degree. This is the basic qualification required to get enrolled for the CNA training program which spans for about 120 hours covering four to six months. At the end of the training the candidate has to appear and pass the CNA State Exam. Upon passing this you are awarded with the CNA certification. However, the State Nursing Board would also conduct a thorough CNA verification to see if you have any criminal past and you also have to submit a recent vaccination report before you finally get hold of the CNA license.
