The Faculty of Technology in Novi Sad was founded in 1959. with the aim to provide an academic education to technological engineering staff in the field of food engineering.

In the academic year of 1972/73, the Faculty introduced new study programs in the field of chemical, oil and petrochemical engineering and material engineering, and in the academic year of 1978/79 in the field of chemical processing and pharmaceutical engineering.

Scientific research at the Faculty includes fundamental and applied research in the field of food, chemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnological and materials engineering.

It is organized in a number of multidisciplinary research projects.

The Faculty cooperates successfully with the process industries and related scientific and development institutions, and also provides engineering and other services, such as technological design, technology transfer, quality control, study/expertise, consultation, technological services, and etc.

The Faculty employs a total of 77 professors (assistant, associated and full) and 85 researchers.

Activities of the Department of Materials Engineering:

Education: In the field of materials engineering. Organisation of workshops and conferences with regard to modern developments in materials science. Research: synthesis, processing and characterisation of materials for advanced applications. Cooperation: counselling and consultancy activities, scientific service, technology transfer, dissemination of information concerning new advanced materials and technologies.

Resins are very complex systems and their activation energies change depends on the conversion degree during the curing process.
