Within a few years of designing with Light & Space Associates, she participated in the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum renovation and expansion. In 1991 she began her own lighting practice. Award-winning and published projects include: the Norton Residence, Bergdorf Goodman–Plaza Level, and Four Seasons–Tokyo.

Emily Monato graduated with a BS degree in Interior Design from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. In 1992 she joined Renee Cooley in the lighting design practice now called Cooley Monato Studio (CoMoS). Award-winning and published projects include: Takashimaya Cosmetics–NYC, Graves 601 (Le Meridien Hotel–Minneapolis), and worldwide locations for Marc Jacobs, Gucci, and Tiffany & Co. He established Renfro Design Group, Inc. in 1998. His professional experience includes lighting designs for civic and cultural institutions as well as historic sites, including Saint Thomas Church, Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, and the Fragonard Room at The Frick Collection.

Wednesday, December 2, 6pmAnn SchiffersBringing Materials to Light: The Secrets of the Professional Lighting DesignerAnn Schiffers has dedicated her entire career to the interaction of light and architecture and recently celebrated her 20th year in the industry. She holds an MFA degree from Parsons School of Design and has taught at the master’s level at both Parsons and New York School of Interior Design for the past nine years. She opened her own lighting design studio, Ann Schiffers Lighting Design, LLC (ASLD) in 2002. Her completed projects can be seen throughout the United States, Japan, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Korea.
