Abstract
RFEnergyharvestingusing3Dprintedmaterialsisagrowingapplicationbothincommercialandmilitaryapplications.RFenergyharvestingistheuseofindirectorscatteredenergytoenablewirelesschargingoflowpowerdevicessuchasbatteriesforradios,GPSdevicesoranyothersensors.Themilitaryisinterestedinkeepingthesedeviceslightweightandenergyefficientasthedevicesthattheyneedtocarrycanaddonadditionalweightofupto15pounds.Thispaperwill focusontheeffectsofusingdifferent3Dprintedmaterialsandfabricationtechniquestocreateaplanarantennaat1GHz.Bothpatchandslottypeofantennaswillbeinvestigated.Thedimensionallengthandwidthandproximityofthelinescreatedwiththedifferent3Dprocesseswillbeinvestigatedastheydirectlyimpactthefunctionalityofeachantennaanditsrelatedcircuitry.Theplanarityofthe3Dprintedsurfacewillalsobeaddressedaspartofthisinvestigation.
