What a wonderful fortnight we have had at Nyora Primary School.
We are having School Assembly once a fortnight (same week as the
newsletter) on a Friday at 9.00am. There will be an assembly this Friday.
Everyone is welcome. Please come along and watch award presentations and
grade items and learn what is happening at Nyora P.S
Cross Country at Stony Creek
What a wonderful effort from our Nyora Students at the Interschool Cross
Country Championships at Stony Creek. I had the pleasure of watching and
cheering on Makaela, Jack, Kalum, Charlie, Kasey, Georgia, Chloe, Tyler and
Stefan who all showed great determination and persistence. Thankyou to
Darlene Brown Gambetta and Sheryl Bradshaw who kindly transported children
to and from the event.

P/1/2 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
P,1,2 have had an exciting week studying Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and
completing some exciting lessons. Last week students made a chocolate box
with lots of different Wonka chocolates inside. We have lots of photographs in
the photo gallery of the chocolate making event.
eSmart Committee
As part of the eSmart program we are setting up a eSmart Committee. The
eSmart committee guides the school in the process of delivering smart, safe
and responsible technology and wellbeing outcomes for all members of our
community. The committee will look at bullying and cyberbullying within the
eSmart school framework. If your interested in joining this committee or you
would like more information about the role you would take within this
committee, could you please contact me.

Thankyou to all parents who completed the School Survey and have returned

Car Park Safety
School car parks are busy places, especially at pick up and drop off times. Student safety is our
paramount concern and students have once again been brushing up on the safest way to get
out of and into the car at the beginning and end of the day. They have also spent time revising
the safest way to leave and enter the school yard (via the small gate), how to use the crossing
and how to cross the street safely at the pub corner. Parents can help to keep our drop off zone
safer by parking large vehicles such as four wheel drives at the far end of the car park or using
the ring road in the Nyora Recreation Reserve. Encourage your child to use the “Safety Door”
- closest to the curb and stop, scan and check for hazards before crossing. Taking an
adult’shand is also a good habit to encourage.
