These and other questions form the very basis of the XPOMET© Con-

vention. By bringing together interdisciplinary networking, the inter-

national transfer of ideas and knowledge, relevant debate and diverse

partners within a three-day, interactive event, an innovation network

will be created for the entire medical sector.

Medical advances are increasingly based on interdisciplinary networ-king. Technologies and brilliant minds that previously had little to do with medicine are suddenly relevant and becoming major game-chan-gers. Big players are seeking young guns, career-changers are shaking up the market, and technological development is rapidly accelerating. We face huge opportunities, yet also considerable risks – and some substantial unknowns. But who can broker this new, relevant knowledge, which is key not just to pushing back the boundaries of medicine but also to safety and quality of life? How can potential partners from entirely different fields and no previous contact find each other?

XPOMET© will be held from March 21 to 23, 2018 at KONGRESSHALLE

am Zoo Leipzig – and will focus exclusively on the presentation of

medical advances. It will showcase individuals, companies and

institutions that are a driving force in the development of medicine

as a whole. The Convention is aimed at all stakeholders in the health-

care sector, especially physicians, decision-makers in medical institu-

tions, biomedical engineers, pharmacy and biotech professionals, and

also students. It will consist of an Innovation Congress, five Vision

Stages, the Future Health Exhibition, interactive showcase

constructions, constructive think tanks, a partnering event, various

side-events, a festival with art and music and the Startup section.

Apart from the modern format of XPOMET©, which provides all participants with a special platform for presentation and networking, the Innovation Congress is likely to prove of particular interest. Featuring award-winning international experts, it will address cutting-edge developments in medicine and healthcare. And at the end of each day, the findings and proposals from the papers and discussions will be compiled and delivered to the medical sector, researchers, industry and politicians. Our think tank sessions devoted to aspects such as the future of emergency medicine or tomorrow’s technology and development requirements from the patient’s viewpoint look set to pro-ve particularly stimulating.

(All sessions will be simultaneously translated from English into German or German into English)

The Future Health Exhibition is divided into Future Health Pavilions, where businesses can showcase themselves as the foremost innovators in their segment. The focus here is on innovation, ideas and interaction. Mind you, we intend to enable companies, institutes and start-ups to do more than ‘just’ present themselves at the Future Health Exhibition. We’ll have a number of structures in place to bring potential partners from different sectors together, allowing ideas and products to be displayed in context and shown in action:

The Start-up Award Pitch will take place on the second day of the XPOMET© Convention. All participating start-ups can submit their projects up to six weeks prior to the event – and the expert jury will then decide which start-ups will be invited to pitch on the Vision Market stage. The first prize is currently € 5,000 together with coaching from startmeupnow! worth € 1,000. The runner-up will also receive € 1,000 worth of coaching from startmeupnow!

Partnering Event

XPOMET© is a platform for extensive networking and interaction.

The Partnering Event is intended above all to bring potential partners

from completely different areas together in face-to-face meetings. Our

partnering software will go online for all participants about two months

before the Convention.

Festival

To turn participation into a memorable experience and to underline

the fascination of medical innovation, the main event will be sup-

plemented by art and live music as well as food trucks and

numerous gadgets. Instead of just an event, a whole festival will

be devoted to future medicine!

XPOMET© Network and Festival

Side-EventsNetworking is much easier in a relaxed environment and a pleasant atmosphere! We’ll therefore be creating as many networking oppor-tunities as possible for our participants:

• XPOMET© Kick-Off: VIP World Café with Breakfast following by a tour through the Future Health Exhibition (invite only)

• The #SuperScience Party

• Official get-together in conjunction with the City of Leipzig

• Start-up and students innovation award ceremony

• Closing event
