SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING
Sunday, July 31st Following the 9am Mass In the McConnell Room
All volunteers in the parish whose work brings them into regular contact with children and youth must be trained in the requirements of our Safe Environment program. The program consists of a video, a background check at parish expense and a written application.
If you want to help in the nursery or with the children or youth of our parish in any way, you must be trained in safe environment. If you recently volunteered to help either through religious education registration or through the catechetical service opportunities card to work with our youth, this training is required.
MEMORIAL GIFTS FOR ST. FRANCIS CHAPEL
In 2013 we solicited memorial donations for the windows, altar, ambo, and tabernacle in the new St. Francis Chapel located in the Youth Building. That was the same year of the May 20th and May 31st tornados which for several months drew our attention to aiding victims and away from the memorials. The list below contains the names of donors that we found in our parish records. It may be incomplete. If you made a significant memorial gift and don’t find your name listed, please contact Father Jack or Jane Mitchell. When we are confident the list is complete, we will place a Donor Plaque outside the chapel.

CELEBRATE THE ZISKA”S
In September of 2004, Captain Mike Ziska and Captain Barbara Scroggins were married at St. Andrew’s. Mike was a cradle Catholic from Nebraska (Go Big Red!), and Barbara was raised a Baptist in South Texas. She went through JOF and was confirmed and admitted to communion the Easter before the wedding. This is a truly remarkable Catholic couple in that they have been assigned to Tinker AFB three times in addition to two overseas assignments. During all those years they maintained their connection with St. Andrew’s. Upon returning from Korea they had their first child Zane and while stationed in Germany young Gabriel came along. Next weekend they will be moving to a new duty assignment as Lieutenant Colonels in Florida. But this time they are unlikely to return to Tinker.
If your life has been touched by this couple
and their children, you are invited to a light
brunch in their honor in the Joyce Center
next Sunday following the 9am Mass.
