Backpack Wait List: If you missed the deadline to register for backpacks for your children you can place your name on our waiting list if you come into the Out-reach Office by Wednesday, July 27th. We can’t promise that you will receive a backpack but if we have extras we will notify you. Please bring an ID for each child for whom you are requesting a back-pack. Backpacks will be distributed between August 1st and August 5th at the Outreach Office between 10 am and 11:45 am
Backpack Assembly: Saturday, July 30th in the PAC from 9 am to 11 am. Volunteers (adults and teenagers) are welcome to participate.
Food Pantry Needs: Canned Fruit and Whole Meals (canned chili, stew, or pasta meals). Bring your donations to the Outreach Office between 10 am and 11:45 am Monday thru Friday
Auto Donations: If you wish to donate an auto to help the needy in our Parish please call the St Vincent de Paul National Vehicle Donation Program : 800-322-8284 or visit http://svdpusa.careasy.org/HOME.html to donate online. Most cars, boats and RV's, running or not are accepted. DMV and IRS paperwork is done by the Auto Donation program. Funds from the auto donation program are used by the St Lucy Confer-ence to help with rent and utilities. Also please call the Outreach Office and let us know about your dona-tion so we can track it.

PARENT DATE NIGHT
Back by popular demand: our teens will be giving adults a much deserved night off on July 24th and Au-gust 28th with a “Parent Date Night” For only $12 per family our teens will watch and play with your kids in the PAC (potty trained and up to 12-years-old only please) while you run errands, have a nice date or just take a nap. Please RSVP to Patty Osorio if you’d like your child to participate. All children must fill-out a waiver form prior to the event in order to participate.
As our summer continues I would like to thank you for the many blessings shared during this past year. As I begin my second year as pastor of St. Lucy Parish the gratitude I have for the many people who serve at the parish both as staff and the multitude of volunteers working to grow the parish and serve our brothers and sisters in Christ is a true joy.
As we move forward in this new fiscal year the parish staff and leadership under the guidance of our Finance Council continues to work diligently in caring for the gifts of stewardship you en-trust to the parish to do the work of our Lord Jesus. We thank you for your generosity of time,
talent and treasure in helping I along with Fr. Steve and the parish staff will continue to reach out in new and innovative ways to invite others to experience the love of God in their lives.
We ended our fiscal year in good shape. Thank you for your continued generosity. In the coming months we will give you a more detailed financial report. With that we will need to continue to grow our financial steward-ship to meet the demands of a growing parish. In addition as a growing parish with many aging buildings we are looking towards how to care for these structures and how they meet the many needs of the parish and school both now and in the future.

HELP SEND ST. LUCY TEENS TO THE 2017 SAN FRANCISCO WALK FOR LIFE
The Knights of Columbus and St. Lucy’s Pro-Life Min-istry are sponsoring the Second Annual Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser Sunday, August 7th after all morning masses. Proceeds will help provide transpor-tation for our teens to participate in the 2017 San Francisco Walk for Life. Tickets will be sold on Sun-day, July 24 and Sunday, July 31 after the 7 am, 9 am and 11 am Masses. Cost per ticket - Adults $7 and Children 2-12yrs $4.
Presentation on “El Camino de Santiago” – The Way. Monday August 15th, 9:00 AM PAC A.
In response to a number of parishioner’s requests, Oscar Lombardi will be giving a 90 minute presentation on the experiences of the recent completion of his third pilgrimage on Monday Au-gust 15th, right after the 8:00 AM Mass. All are welcome. “Buen Camino”.

Mientras continúanos el verano me gustaría darles las gracias por las muchas bendiciones compartidas durante este último año. Al comenzar mi segundo año como pastor de la Parro-quia de Santa Lucía estoy agradecido por la multitud de personas que sirven en la parroquia tanto como el personal y los voluntarios que trabajan para crecer la parroquia y servir a nuestros hermanos y hermanas en Cristo.
Al que avanzamos en este nuevo año fiscal el personal de la parroquia y su liderazgo, bajo la guía de nues-tro Consejo de Finanzas, sigue trabajando con diligencia en el cuidado de sus dones encomendados a la parroquia para hacer el trabajo de nuestro Señor Jesús. Le damos las gracias por su generosidad de tiempo, talento y tesoro para ayudar a que junto con el Padre Steve y el equipo parroquial sigamos usando maneras nuevas e innovadoras para invitar a otros a experimentar el amor de Dios en sus vidas.
Terminamos nuestro año fiscal en buena forma. Gracias por su continua generosidad. En los próximos me-ses le daremos un informe financiero más detallado. Con eso tendremos que seguir creciendo nuestra admi-nistración financiera para cumplir con las exigencias de una parroquia en crecimiento. Además, con muchos edificios en envejecimiento, estamos mirando hacia cómo cuidar de estas estructuras y la forma en que cum-plen las muchas necesidades de la parroquia y la escuela, tanto ahora como en el futuro.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTRY
Starting July 23rd St. Lucy is beginning our recruitment pro-cess for new Eucharistic Ministers to fill positions at our English masses Saturday 5:15p Vigil and all Sunday mass-es. A candidate must have already received the sacra-ments of Baptism, First Eucharist, and Confirmation to be-come a Eucharistic Minister. If you feel a call to this ministry and would like to consider serving in our parish, please contact: Rita Gray / Liturgy Planning, at 408/605-4083 soon as possible. Eucharist Ministry Training is scheduled for September 17th in the church.

It could be about a moment that has brought you closer to God, or allows you to feel the presence of God, a miracle that you have ex-perienced, or how you experienced the gift of "Mercy". St. Lucy’s Church is offering tutoring and assistance to stu-dents of elementary school, who are struggling in reading and writing, from July 25 to August 11, 2016.
If you are interested in this program, please fill an application and turn it at the Parish office. Fee for the program is $20.00
Application can be found at the Parish office or at the St. Lucy Website. For more information please contact the Parish office.
There are also opportunities to donate or volunteer for this im-portant ministry.
