20:00 PERFORMANCE:Qash-Qash,byNomcebisiMoyikwa

Venue:P4Studio,HiddinghCampus

Everything follows from this principle: that the black subject is not to be reduced to a simple – resisting, reactionary – subject, but rather that we hear in her what is “unreal”, calling attention to modes of blackarticulacypreviouslyoverlooked.Thenecessity forQash-Qash is to found in the followingconsideration: thatthe black subject’s discourse is today one of extreme displacement. This discourse is spoken, perhaps, bythousandsofsubjects, butwarrantedbyless;itiscompletelyabandonedbythesurroundinglanguages:ignored, disparaged, ordecidedby them, severednotonly fromauthoritybutalso fromthemechanismsofauthority.Onceadiscourse is thusdrivenby itsownmomentumintothebackwaterof the“unreal”,exiledfromall thegregarity, ithasnorecoursebut tobecomethesite, however thin, ofaconfirmation.Thatconfirmation is, inshort,thesubjectofQash-Qash.
