About Mine Rehab 2019 conference The University of Newcastle has successfully run eight consecutive conferences titled Best Practice Ecological Rehabilitation of Mined Lands or Mine Rehab. This annual conference is a significant event on the Hunter Region calendar. It provides an important avenue to promote the use of best-practice approaches in the management of rehabilitation of mined lands. The conference is well recognised by people in the mining and allied sectors in Australia, and also overseas. The success of this conference is because of the support and participation of stakeholders like industry, government, academics, and most importantly, you. This year the Mine Rehab 2019 is being jointly organised by the University of Newcastle and Cooperative Research Centre for Contamination Assessment and Remediation of the Environment (CRC CARE). CRC CARE and has frequently engaged with past Mine Rehab conferences. This year events will be held over 3 days. Across these three days, delegates will have the opportunity to participate in various activities, including workshops, mine tours as well as the main conference. The Organising Committee is preparing an outstanding scientific and educational program, which will combine cutting-edge research with industry best practice and draw on experience from Australian and international markets. Based on previous yearsattendance figures (1/3 academic, 1/3 industry and 1/3 government), we are anticipating approximately 300+ delegates, making it the largest mine rehabilitation conference in Australia. The conference presents an excellent opportunity to share expertise and make connections. Please ensure you note wheth- er you wish to be considered for an oral presentation, or a poster presentation. Please ensure that your abstract is submitted be- fore COB 11 April 2019. Successful candidates will be notified via email around 2 May 2019, following review and selection by our science committee. Accepted presenters must register for the conference by 17 May 2019, otherwise the presentation will not be included in the con- ference program. Abstracts that are submitted without the biography, high resolu- tion head shot and contact details will not be considered.
