Farwell Grade 6 Students………...When I came to Elphinstone Primary School for my first year as prep I found it really

daunting and scary because I found it really hard to make new friends and try feeling comfortable with the new environment. But gradually I grew out of my comfort zone and got to know the teachers, staff and students very well and made a lot of friends. What I’m really going to miss about this school is doing interschool sports but the one I’m going to miss the most is T20 Blast Cricket be-cause I’ve done it for three years. I’m also going to miss doing Energy Breakthrough since I’ve done it for three years from the end of grade 4 to the end of grade6. Now I just need to prepare for my journey to High School next year. Keelan Gardiner I think it was a great idea to move to Elphinstone because it is not as loud as the city. Being at a small school is great because there are not many kids to remember. And it is easy to keep track of things and we can’t get lost very easily. But in the high school I’m going to next year, I’m differently going to get lost more often since it’s a very big school. Siriena McDougall When I first came to Elphinstone primary school in grade 4 I found it really hard to speak to people because I didn’t know anyone. I also found it difficult to understand how the teachers teach at Elphinstone, because at Campbell’s creek they teach differently. But when I was in grade 5 I had a lot of friends and they helped me out a lot. Brodie Glenister I will miss Elphinstone, I came to Elphinstone in grade 3 as a little city girl who was not sure about moving, but I was welcomed in with warm hands. I have found being in a small school more beneficial then I imagined. I soon found some great friends who have helped me through my life at Elphinstone. This year I took every opportunity I could so I could experience new things. I went to Somers, com-peted in Energy break through, started up a launch time club and went to a youth conference on our earth and how to save it from climate change. I liked learning about countries this year as I found it quite interesting. I am looking forward to the next chapter in my life. Thank you, Elphinstone. Teneniel Gatt From all my years here at Elphinstone I have had my ups and downs at school but overall I will never forget my time here and the events I enjoyed with others .Many things I will miss, but overall Energy break through will be one thing that I’ll visit every year even if My school is not competing. From Year 1 to 6 I even enjoyed the little things like reading Hatchet and Kevin the Troll or Making my very own newspaper I’ll never forget. Tom Spencer It was great to move to Elphinstone. Being at a small school was better than being at a big one as we got to do more excursions. I will miss Elphinstone, I have learnt a lot of different subjects that interest me, and I will continue to learn more about them. Being at a small school improves your learning as there are smaller classes, but there are less people to talk to. Moving to a bigger school will be very different as there are more students, and more classes to take at different times. I look forward to continue growing my learning and to learn new things. Paris Harrison I arrived at Elphinstone at the beginning of last year and it has been a good experience since then. Elphinstone was my third primary school and I think it was the best, although also the smallest. Mr Stewart’s Math class was a definite high light as it was much more challenging and interesting. Somers Camp was another great opportunity to meet new people and experience new things. We do so many extra-curricular things at Elphinstone compared to other schools like the chess competition the sporting events, gym, energy-breakthrough, youth leading the world, Somers camp and many more. I doubt many of the kids realise how lucky they are! Thanks Elphinstone for a great last two years of primary school! Tara Pridham Elphinstone has been a great school since I had arrived, living so close to it was also very helpful. I also found that being such a small school made it a lot easier to learn and the kids there were great. I made so many good friends some which are now in high school and some that are still here with me today. I also really enjoy how Elphinstone is a school out in the bush which makes it very quiet and also we have a great community. I will miss this school an awful lot and wish everyone the very best in the future! Abi Gunter

FRIDAY LUNCH HELPERS ROSTER TERM 4 11th December – Mani 18th December— Last Day of school

My favourite meal is pasta – any! I enjoy making things at home, because its something that I like doing. When I grow up I want to be a horse groomer. I like being around horses whether it’s riding them or grooming them. What I enjoy about Elphinstone Primary School is Art because it is not always the same thing. From dot paintings to using a really fine brush. Sport too, as long as I don’t over heat! My favourite colour is green.

Metcalfe Seniors Visit

Thankyou to Metcalfe Seniors

for again inviting us to

perform our end of year

concert at their hall. The

students entertained the crowd and in return,

as has been tradition, there was a thankyou

feast. Students were extremely well behaved

and proudly represented our school.
