KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
1. Bronnie Lennox Thompson (NZ) graduated as an occupational therapist in 1984 and has since then
completed a PhD in Psychology. Bronnie specialises in helping people experiencing chronic health
problems learn to achieve their potential. Bronnie is also an internationally reknowned educator, offering
an active knowledge of the latest research, integrated with current clinical practice, and communicates to
clinicians working directly with people experiencing chronic ill health. Bronnie is a Senior Lecturer in the
Department of Orthopaedic Surgery & Musculoskeletal Medicine at the University of Otago.
2. Tony Hardy is an award-winning senior advertising creative and brand strategist and over the past 15
years has created campaigns for the nations leading brands including Kathmandu and MyoCycle. He has
also authored several non-fiction books and been a regular sports columnist to various print and digital
media outlets

3. Alison Sim has a keen interest in educating health professionals about the latest science surrounding
pain, especially chronic pain. Alison qualified as an osteopath in 2001 and holds a Masters of Medicine in
Pain Management from the Sydney University and Royal North Shore Pain Management Research
Institute. She is currently based in Portland, Oregon, USA
4. Beth Wilson became Victoria’s Health Services Commissioner in 1997. She is a lawyer by training and has worked mainly in administrative law. Beth has had a long-standing interest in medico/legal and
ethical issues and played a pivotal role in the development of the new Health Complaints Act which
comes into operation on 1st February 2017.
5. Grant Sexton is Executive Chairman of Leadership Management Australia, the business, development
and training division of the Leadership and Performance Group of Companies. Grant has delivered
leadership management courses in over 50 countries
6. Mark Merolli is a digital health consultant, researcher, entrepreneur and physiotherapist. His PhD is in
health informatics/digital health and he specialises in consumer participatory health technologies –
especially social media.
7. Wayne Rodgers is a sports physiotherapist with over 21 years’ experience in the health and fitness
industries. Wayne has a special interest in highly functional and training techniques and promotes the
development of high performance through personal empowerment
8. Karen Lucas is a highly respected Myotherapist with a degree in Human Movement and has a PhD in
Myofascial Pain. Karen is the owner and has been the lead Myotherapist at Eltham Myotherapy Clinic
since 1996. Karen is presently completing a Masters of Medicine in Pain Management from the Sydney
University and Royal North Shore Pain Management Research Institute
