FASHION
The mini shift dress, jumper dress, drop waist dress and tunic dress were still trendy dress styles in the early 70s. Sleeveless jumper dresses were worn over short or long sleeve shirts in winter with high knee socks.
Caftan dresses were Grecian inspired and worn with high heels sandals and beads or pearl necklaces.
The wrap dress designed by Diane von Furstenberg was a cotton jersey shirt dress with a ballerina wrap top.

FASHION
Women’s pants in the 70s had more diversity than the previous two decades combined. Some were waist high and wide leg while others were hip huggers with only a flared leg. Some were tight cigarette fit, straight leg, or very baggy. Some had cuffs, some didn’t.
Jumpsuits were a stretchy adaptation of overalls. During the day, the jumpsuit was made of double-knit polyester, cotton or denim with a zip or button up front, pant pockets and oversize collar.

FASHION
Also known as ‘Studio 54 fashion’ in honor of the legendary club Studio 54, the disco party outfit is perhaps the most iconic 70s style.
Torn or baggy jeans, long hair, and any clothing that looks both used and way too big for you can be a great foundation a cool hippie style outfit.

HAIRSTYLES
The Shag: Jane Fonda's hairstyle in the 1971 film Klute inspired a nation to follow suit. The short- to mid-length style was characterized by evenly progressed layers from shortest at the top of the head to the longest at the bottom for an overall "shaggy" effect. The look was worn by men and women alike in varying lengths and interpretations.
-
HAIRSTYLES
The Feathered Look: This iconic look was made famous by actress Farrah Fawcett, who stepped out in the soft, feathery hairstyle on the set of Charlie's Angels. Arguably the most popular looks of the decade, the style involved mid-length to long hair, brushed back and outward at the sides, giving the appearance of the feathers of a bird.

HAIRSTYLES
Facial Hair: Facial hair, in the form of sideburns, mustaches and beards, saw an explosion in popularity during the 1970s. The look ranged from long and unkempt to perfectly trimmed and sculpted and was very much influenced by hippie culture. Superstars like John Lennon and Frank Zappa helped to popularize facial hair for the first time since nearly the 19th century.
