1977 Pay Stub! $1.80/hr !

Maybe this paystub will bring back memories of your first pay check or the paystub that started your

career?

For me, I thought that I was working for a fancy upscale restaurant and jumped at the opportunity to

work there without truly understanding that my earnings would be determined by the graciousness of

tips and the honesty of the waiters to share those tips.

Well, I didn’t work there very long but I can tell you that I recall working a summer job at a local plant in

1978/79 making $8.05/hr and sometimes with overtime pay, over $12/hr!

Now, 37 years later I saw a sign advertising the same pay rate at the local convenience gas station!
