Living to learn, Math : We are focusing on line plots, dot plots, perimeter, area, angles, and symmetry. Science : Discovery and discussion on the different forms of energy, including nuclear and geothermal energy. Computer: Utilizing Study Island to improve in Math, Reading and Writing.

4th Grade Team

Reading : STAAR focus reading, especially in the areas of using the dictionary or glossary, summarizing, use of text features, expository text, theme, and Genre.

Writing: Mastering the elements of the writing process (planning, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing) to compose text; Learning how to write a personal narrative, expository narrative, and respond to text

Language Arts :   We are learning how to improve on recognizing homophones and using subordinate and supporting conjunctions.

4th Grade Team

Look at what we are learning,

Math: We are learning how to divide. We’re learning that our multiplication chart is a useful tool for multiplication and dividing. STAAR Ready Math is our go to book for learning new strategies in math.

Reading: Student will read, listen, speak and write using strategies to understand English Language better.

Language Arts: Students will use skills and strategies to understand the English Language better and apply the skills to reading/writing.

Math: Students will use data shown in pictographs and bar graphs to solve problems.

Science: Students will identify various characteristics of plants that allow them to meet their needs.

Social Studies: Students will identify and use the features of a chart to obtain and interpret information.

2nd Grade Team

Reading: The learner will learning about three-letter blends and vowel digraphs.

Language Arts: The learner will practice using was and were and contractions; The learner will use phonological knowledge to match sounds to letters to construct known words using three letter blends and vowel digraphs.

Science: We are discussing states of matter liquid and how things freeze and turn into liquid.

Social Studies: the learner will learning about the past and historical figures.

Math: Counting up to 120 and Skip Counting 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s.
