Dear colleagues,
It is my great honor and pleasure to invite you to the First Congress of Endoscopic Surgeons of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will be held from 6th to 8th September 2019 at the Hotel Holiday, Saraje-vo, under the auspices of the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery (EAES).
The Association of Endoscopic Surgeons of Bosnia and Herzegovi-na is a professional association which was founded on the level of
the state on 21st April 2018. Its foundation was prompted by the fact that all European countries, including our neighbors Croatia and Serbia, have their own independent Associ-ations of Endoscopic Surgeons, through which they have encouraged the development and progress of this type of surgery.
The AESBH encompasses all doctors who work in endoscopic surgery. The AESBH seeks to advance endoscopic surgery in all parts of BH, through workshops, at which our col-leagues from neighboring countries and from the EAES will participate as teachers, and also through symposia and congresses like this.
We invite you to contribute by your participation to the quality of this gathering, which will be held in Sarajevo, in the capital city of BH, well known for its beauty, and traditional cultural and religious diversity. This is also an opportunity to get to know this lovely city!
“At whatever time of day, and from which ever height you cast your gaze over Sarajevo, you will always be unwittingly struck by the same thought. This city is a city that is burning out and dying but at the same time is being born and transformed. Today, it is the city of our most beautiful aspirations and efforts, our boldest desires and hopes,” wrote Ivo An-drić, recipient of the Nobel Prize for Literature.
We hope you will be interested and have the time to join us!

Dear members of AESBH,
On behalf of the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery, I would like to thank your President and all of you for giving us this opportunity to participate in the First Congress of the Association of Endoscopic Surgeons of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It is a great honor for EAES to be part of this event that celebrates the new energy of surgeons of Bosnia and Herzegovina to work to-gether to improve the diffusion and quality of endoscopic surgery in your Country.
We feel this event goes beyond and further builds the relationship between the EAES and your new sister society in the field of endoscopic surgery and medical education. The EAES has always been a hub for many national societies seeking the advance of surgical care and I will be looking forward to continue this tradition by providing young surgeons from Bosnia and Herzegovina with all the education opportunities available through EAES membership.
I will be in Sarajevo to strengthen our cooperation in surgical education and look forward to participate in this scientific event.
Thank you very much and I wish you a successful congress.
Prof. Andrea PietrabissaPresident of EAES

Based on internal test report #2128-053, Ethicon benchmark testing – Signia™ circular reload.† As compared to two-row circular staplers.‡ Preclinical results may not correlate with clinical performance in humans.§ Based on the addition of a third row of staples in the EEA™ circular stapler with Tri-Staple™ technology, as compared to predicate two-row device designs.Ω Refers to the healing period (generally through day 28) that was evaluated in multiple preclinical (canine) survival studies designed to assess device safety and efficacy.††Finite element analysis (FEA) was used to determine the strain profiles of three circular staplers during clamp-up: EEA™ circular stapler with Tri-Staple™ technology, EEA™ stapler
with DST Series™ technology and Ethicon Intraluminal Circular Stapler. The EEA™ circular stapler with Tri-Staple™ technology demonstrated a graduated compression profile upon clamping.
GREATER PERFUSION
May be allowed into the staple line compared to two row staplers 6,7,‡
LESS STRESS
On tissue during compression and clamping compared to two row staplers 8,‡,††
CONSISTENT PERFORMANCE
Over a broad range of tissue thicknesses compared to two row staplers 9-11
