Charity Front…Charity Front…
On the charity front we have had a lot on the go as Macmillan Coffee Morning swept across the estate, with each restaurant raising lots of money for the cause.
Iguanas from some of our London sites took part in the London 10k raising £1000 for Springboard which is a charity which helps to unlock life-changing literacy for disadvantaged children.
People are also doing their own personal fundraising such as Victor Marra from Brighton ran the Bright10 and Simon McNeill from Lakeside (see below)
Last year Simon cycled from London to Paris with Jamie Jones from Lakeside to raise money for Little Havens Children's Hospice, but as if that wasn't enough, he came back for more in the summer by attempting to cycle the same route and back again in 48 hours! Unfortunately he did the first part well within 24 hours, however with huge disappointment a knee injury meant that he had to retire and could not continue home.
A couple of months later he successfully completed the 3 city cycle; London, Amsterdam & Brussels. He raised £3k for the Heart of Kent Hospice. Our hats are off to you Simon, who is now organising his very own charity group bike ride on behalf of Little Havens Children's Hospice.
