ORIENTATION PROGRAMME ON CBSE INITIATIVE

AWAKENED CITIZEN PROGRAMME

On 10th Jan 2019, the Principal of ASPAM Scottish School, Noida attended workshop for Principals of NCR region.

The Principal attended one day Orientation programme regarding implementation of Awakened Citizen

Programme in all the CBSE affiliated schools across the country. The Orientation Programme was organised at

Ramakishna Mission at Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, Paharganj, Delhi.

More than 300 Principals from various schools from NCR participated in this CBSE initiative that is a mandatory

aspect for all schools. The topic of this day long programme was finding infinite potential in students. The

Resource Persons of the event were the Jt. Director Mr. Ramakrishnan and Mr.Vishwajit, Director, Training CBSE

who briefed the participants about 3 years skill based programme for students of Middle School preferably, VI,

VII and VIII graders. The Resource Person stressed that every child is unique and it is essential to explore their

potentials. The 16 modules of the programme cater to development of values in students. A few of the diverse

topics of the modules include ‘Be heroic’, ‘Expanding self’, ‘Developing solutions to complexities,’

‘Comprehensive view of life’ etc.

The Principal of Ramakrishna Mission Rohini spoke about the impact of the modules on students. It was also

stressed that values cannot be taught but caught. With the development of Value Labs, these modules will help

to create new dimensions in teaching –learning processes and act as reflective sessions for the students in

particular.

LEAD THE CHANGE

On 11th Jan 2019, the Principal of ASPAM Scottish School, Noida attended the unveiling ceremony of ‘Lead the

Change’ – An Anthology to Inspire School Leaders at The Taj Mahal Hotel, Man Singh Road, New Delhi.

The Chief Guest of the event was Padam Shree awardee Dr. Dinesh Sharma, Former Vice Chancellor of Delhi

University. The other key speakers were Dr. Atul , the Founder Director of ICS; Lata Vaidyanathan, Former

Principal, Modern School, New Delhi; Pramod Sharma, Vice- President, Genesis Global School, Noida. There

were discussions regarding 21st century leadership skills.

At the end of the session, ‘Lead the Change’ was unveiled by the Chief Guest, Dr. Dinesh Sharma. ‘Lead the

Change’ is India’s first and only anthology that empowers school leaders and it covers all seven school leadership

domains.

ASPAM Scottish School, Noida, enrolled as the member of ICSL (International Council for School Leadership) to

join in the mission of ICSL and provide quality education not only to the ASPAMIANS but also millions of students

across the world.

The new year was welcomed with great enthusiasm Principal Ma’am’s Reflective Session had an Inspirational PPT on ‘Life is Beautiful. It was shared with the entire staff. She addressed and motivated everyone to give their best and take the school to the next

level. Teachers presented beautiful songs individually and in group as well; a well-

choreographed dance performance was much appreciated. Light Snacks and tea were served at the end.

Outcome:

All felt much inspired and New Year resolution envisaged by Team ASPAM is to “Work hard until your good becomes better and your better becomes best.

WORKSHOP: GENIUS CORNER

Date & Venue: On 18.01.2019, a workshop was organized in the blue room of ASPAM Scottish, Noida Demonstrator & Presenter:

Conducted by : Tapan Bhattacharya, Genius corner Agenda:

To make the teachers aware about Genius corner module for remediation of the areas where the students are weak. Participants: Teachers of Grade VI to VIII (Science and Math teachers) Highlights:

The teachers were shown the module of Genius corner to develop the learning process in

the class.

The teachers enthusiastically participated in the discussion.

Each teacher gave his/her feedback related to open door as compared to Genius corner.

The presentation was appropriate.

In depth information was given in the module pertaining to the each and every student.

The highlight of the presentation was each topic will have remediation with a video

support. The students can go through the video and then answer the questions given to

them .The same report can be followed up by parents also.

Personalized workbook will also be provided to the students so that they can improve on each topic wherever they are lacking.

Outcome:

Teachers were able to understand the module so as to analyse and diagnose the students of

their weaknesses in the respective subjects.

Birthday of the teachers from the month of September to January was celebrated with great fun and frolic.

Birthday Cake was cut by the teachers and gifts were presented to them by the Head Sr. Ms. Poonam Sharma.

Ms. Seema, Ms. Priti, Ms. Neelam, Ms. Anish & Mr. Sonu were declared employee of the month – December 2018. Certificates of appreciation were also given.

Light Snacks and tea were served at the end. Outcome:

Evaluation Mock Drill was carried out, the Head Examiners were asked to give report about

the evaluation and variation of marks of the examiners. The Hon’ble Secretary CBSE

suggested that only those teacher would be appointed as spot evaluators who have

minimum experience of three years.

There should be no rigidity in the marking scheme. The head examiners should guide the

spot evaluator to look for creative and relative answers of the examinee.

The question paper / answer key should be discussed thoroughly by the Head Examiner on

the first day of the evaluation.

Teachers training subject enrichment capacity building training programme is must.

Creative answer by the students should get due weightage.

Teachers should look for qualitative development of education – different students have

different requirement.

Hon’ble secretary CBSE, discussed “the Purpose of Education” in the interactive session.

The teacher should follow NCF 2005 and the Preface of NCERT Book while teaching in the

class.

The students should be put into thinking mode by motivating them.

CBSE Calendar was released by Hon’ble Secretary CBSE.

All educational institutions whether IP/ ICSE/CBSE / should be recognized by the State

Education Department.

Outcome:

Participation of experienced and qualified teachers in Examination & Evaluation work of

the Board.

Holding the responsibility of the work by Head of Institution so as to minimize the errors

identified during Verification / Scrutiny of Marks.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

Agenda : Hoisting of National Flag Celebrating the national festival with joy and enthusiasm

Highlights:

Republic Day celebration at Aspam began with the hoisting of flag by the Principal and singing of the National Anthem by all.

This was followed by series of patriotic songs sung by the school choir. It was carried on as antakshari and the entire staff also participated in it. Sweets and tea were served to all.

Outcome:

Republic day was a celebrated with great fervor The celebrations spread all over joy, happiness, togetherness, love for nation and

camaraderie.

ASSEMBLY- NATIONAL YOUTH DAY

Date & Venue: On 08.1.2019, a special assembly was organized in the Foyer of Aspam Scottish School Demonstrator & Presenter:

Conducted by : Grade XI A Presented by : Noor Mohammed

Agenda:

To celebrate the “National Youth Day” To inculcate the virtues of Swami Viveknand To understand the role of youth in national building To have tolerance and respect for all religions

Participants: Students of Grade I, II,IV A,VIA,B ,VII A,B ,XI A,B,C and the School Choir . Highlights: The thematic morning assembly started with the prayer song ‘TU HI RAM HAI TU RAHIM HAI’i.e, the school choir prayed the Almighty to bestow the students with knowledge, kindness ,humbleness.

Students took the pledge with Mahi of Grade XI A. Swastik and Shraddha of Grade 1 presented the thoughts on the theme. This was followed by the News headlines presented by Mariam of Grade XI A. Apart from

National, International, Sports news and the weather report, the students were updated with the school news as well.

Students of Grade II A recited a poem. The talk for the day was presented by Ayesha and Ridhima . Students of the primary wing showcased their skills of Taekwondo which they learnt during

their club sessions. This was followed by the prize distribution by the Head Senior ma’am to the winners of the

Science Exhibition held in Jewar for which our students were conferred with a Bronze Medal. Certificates were given to the students who attended the Fortis Workshop for study skills. Students made ASPAM proud by winning gold, silver and bronze medals in the National

level Abacus and Vedic Math test.

The prize winners were appreciated by our Head Senior Ma’am for the laurels they brought

to our school.

Assembly ended with the National Anthem.

Outcome:

The thematic morning assembly taught the Aspamians the lessons given by Swami Vivekanand to tolerate one another with patience and have respect for all religions.

They are now able to understand that the true liberation would come when every Indian would feel liberated from poverty, ignorance and learn from the other people of the world.

Date & Venue: On 11.01.2019, an inter class activity was conducted in the respective grades of VI to VIII. Demonstrator & Presenter:

To prepare Ppt on “GANDHIJI’S LIFE” To discuss his contribution as a youth inspiration To inculcate the teachings of Gandhiji in their life

Participants: Students of Grade VI to VIII Highlights:

The students were given instructions to make the presentation on Gandhiji’s life.

They enthusiastically participated in the competition.

Each student participated in it as an individual activity.

Students thoroughly enjoyed participation in the presentation.

The judgement sheet was handed over to the grade mentors who judged the presentation

The judgement criteria was inclusive of content and overall presentations.

Outcome:

This interdisciplinary approach to presentations on Gandhiji’s Life was a new experience

for them.

Students gained a lot of confidence after making the presentations themselves.

Date & Venue: On 29.01.2019 a special assembly was conducted on ‘Water is Precious’ in the Foyer

Assembly on the theme ‘Water is Precious’ was conducted. To sensitize students judicious use of water. To understand the need of conservation of water. To make them aware about challenges faced due to scarcity of water.

Participants: Students of grade I, II, III, IV, V, IX, XI and the School Choir. Highlights:

The thematic morning assembly began with prayer by the students of VIB

Students took the New India pledge with Nitin of VIB Students of Grade VI came up with the thought for the day along with the meaning. Students of Grade I and II recited a poem based on the theme This was followed by the news headlines Students of Grade 1V gave a presentation on the necessity of water conservation Grade VI and VII presented a skit depicting the theme. The assembly ended with the national anthem.

Outcome:

The thematic morning assembly gives the Aspamians an opportunity and platform to display their talents and present themselves as individuals.

It is a place to spread awareness also. The students through their various acts made their peers aware of the challenges that we

will face in future if we do not conserve water now.
