2 MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD: LNO 1st
OFFICIAL MEETING
I. Background
a. The NCPAG SG Chairperson requested for a meeting to discuss important
points with the Organizations for NCPAG for Academic Year 2011-2012.
II. Discussion Points
a. Greetings, Introductions and Agenda Flow Discussion
i. The Chairperson welcomed everyone to the meeting. The Internal Affairs
Administrator did a roll call of the attendees. All of the organizations had
representatives except from Samahan Tungo sa Progresibong
Administrasyon (STPA) but it was resolved that Ms. Theresa Carlos, an
Undergraduate Councilor and also a STPA member, would represent the
organization.
ii. The Chairperson introduced the plan to institutionalize the League of NCPAG
Organizations which is headed by Vice Chairperson Desiree Ico. It aims to
have an integrated body that would collaborate plans of the four NCPAG
organizations towards a more thriving tie-up projects and a harmonious
NCPAG community.
iii. Mr. Edward Jayson San Juan of CIRCA proposed to change the flow of the
agenda. The Chairperson affirmed to prioritize agenda items 1, 2, 3, 4 and 9
because of time-constraint but remaining agenda will be discussed thereafter
if time permits.
b. NCPAG Student Government Organizational Structure
i. The Chairperson discussed some pertinent provisions in the NCPAG SG
Constitution, i.e., empowering not just the elected Student Council Officers
but also the batch officials in pushing through projects. Batch representatives
may sit in on Student Council meetings as ex-officio members (but has no
voting power). Their role is to ensure maximum participation of their
batchmates in council’s and college’s events.
ii. The need to amend the constitution was also brought up to the meeting in
which the Student Council will create an adhoc committee lead by the
Chairperson and composed of some SC officers and other NCPAG students
that will deliberate its vague provisions.
c. PAkilala
i. PAkilala, a freshie/shiftee orientation, was originally set on June 20, Monday.
Members of the body, however, questioned the date of orientation because
having no regular classes on a Monday might imperil full participation of the
students.

3 MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD: LNO 1st
OFFICIAL MEETING
ii. Socio-academic Affairs Administrator Bea Achacoso said that it depends on
how intense and effective the publicity strategies are. Internal Affairs
Administrator suggested basing it on the schedule with the lower PA subjects
so that new students would be in the college that will enable them to attend
the assembly. Chairperson Jules Guiang added to seek the support of PA 11
class handlers as well as the CPAGE to require the students to be there. It
was then put forward to have the Library Tour (usually done during the first
week of PA 11 classes) as part of the PAkilala Programme.
iii. It was resolved to choose between June 20 to 24 as the final date of the
orientation and disseminate its programme at least a week before so the
organizations will have an ample time to prepare for their 15-minute
presentation.
d. NCPAG Month
i. The Chairperson introduced the project of the Student Council named
“Makialam”, a series of forums which will be conducted every month by the
Student Council and/or NCPAG organizations/other college student councils.
It aims to make the students aware of the socially relevant issues while
gauging them on different perspectives.
ii. Ms. Karen Justine Solomon of PAGDUMALA raised their concern regarding
their foundation week celebration which will coincide with the NCPAG Month.
They requested to own the 3rd week of July while STPA on the 1st week,
CIRCA on the 2nd and PALS on the 4th week.
iii. Basing it last year, the NCPAG administration gave a two-thousand budget to
each organization for the kick-off exhibit and free use of facilities for NCPAG
Month-related projects.
iv. The Chairperson is tasked to e-mail Dean Edna Co about the final schedule
of the NCPAG Month for organizations to prepare and finalize calendaring
their events.
v. Mr. Edward Jayson San Juan asked the council about any other collaborative
projects of the Student Council with the orgs. They pronounced their
willingness to help the Student Council as long as it won’t be at odds with
their org’s project and given at least 15-day notice.

i. The NCPAG Student Council, together with the Law Student Government, is
tasked by the University Student Council to review Article 7 of the Draft Code
