Quiz
When you get the quiz, write your name at the very top of the page.
When you are finished, close your manila folder and wait. If you haven’t gotten your laptop yet, you may get one, but don’t

Quiz
1.) Turn your quiz face down.
2.) Add your colored name cover
3.)Paper-clip it.
4.) Flip the quiz over to begin grading
- 1, 2 = 4
- 3,4 = 3
- 5,6 = 2
- 6 or more = 1
EcosystemsWith your partner, pick an ecosystem that you both know about.
This is NOT a research project. If you need to get a little more information on a few species, that is fine!
Fair warning: If you spend all of your time researching, you’ll miss the main point of this food web
What is a food web?
Food Web
Ecosystems are much more complex than you would think.
Your Task:1.) With your shoulder partner, choose a natural (not a farm or other man made outdoor area) ecosystem you are familiar with.
2.) Write down the abiotic factors of your ecosystem. Go through all 7 abiotic factors and write down what each one of them looks like in your ecosystem.
3.) Once you are sure you know about the biotic and abiotic factors in the ecosystem, begin drawing the biotic factors on your sheet. Draw the picture, color it in, write the level (producer, primary consumer, etc) below it.
4.) You need AT LEAST 5 examples of producers
5.) At least 3 primary consumers, at least 3 secondary consumers
6.) At least 2 tertiary consumers
7.) At least 1 Scavenger and 1 decomposer in your ecosystem
Ecosystems
Forest Grassland Mountain
Freshwater Marine/Ocean
Polar/Tundra
Desert Wetlands
Ecosystems
Check out these ecosystems for abiotic and biotic components!
You will also find threats to these habitats listed on the site.
Exit Slip
How do you think changes to abiotic factors affect populations?
Give two examples of how a change in the physical environment can upset the balance of an ecosystem.
