2.2. Population Density per Barangay
Makati’s population based on the National Statistics Office 2010 Census is 529,039 that accounts 4.46 percent of Metro Manila’s total population. It has a population density of 191 persons per hectare. Of the total, 8.56 percent lives in the biggest barangay, Post Proper Southside. This is followed by Pembo with 8.47 percent and Rizal with 7.93 percent. In contrast, the second largest barangay which is Forbes Park got the lowest percentage share of population with only 0.48 percent. This may result from the zonal land value and zoning type of the area. Consequently, Forbes Park and Post Proper Northside have the least dense area having 10 and 26 person per hectare, respectively. Cembo, Pitogo, and South Cembo, all located in District II are the densest barangays with 793, 784 and 734 persons per hectare, respectively (Refer to Map 12).
