FLEXEUROPE AB

- Process design made easy

Page 2: 2 Method And Methodology

Creating the process model

Using a generic method for process modeling

Developed by Volvo Cars in the beginning of the 90´s

Focuses on the results of each process and activity

Based on an logistic approach

The ”what” has to be defined before the ”how”

Secures the results from the process, and in the end – from the delivered solution

Supported through a generic business modeling tool

Developed by and for business side users

Page 3: 2 Method And Methodology

Generic result orientated process view

Results crucial to the models

Only some processes are automated

Page 4: 2 Method And Methodology

Why a process model is not enough

Process models are for humans

Humans fills the logical gaps, by interpreting the context

Lacks information for process automation by a computer

In order to automate the process model, it has to be developed into a process design

Page 5: 2 Method And Methodology

Why a process model is not enough

The process model only describes the flow

The information model describes the information to be generated in the flow

The rule model uses generated information to control the flow and roles by business rules

Special functions in the BPMS makes it possible to individualize

responsibility. Ex. Load balancing, unit boss, escalation etc.
