8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

3

Scoffers are willfully ignorantwillfully ignorant of Truth.

Lovers of GodLovers of God must not be so.

God measures time against eternityeternity, a far greater perspectivegreater perspective than ours.

9 The Lord is not slack concerning His Promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

4

The Promise of the Rapture of believers

is true.

Two thousand years is nothingnothing in the Mind of GodMind of God,

Especially when weighed against His DesireHis Desire that all menall men will accept salvation from wrath.

5

John 3 16-18 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the Name of the only begotten Son of God.

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

6

A thief comes when he is least expectedleast expected.

The day of the Lord describes end-time events that begin after the Rapture and culminate with the commencement of eternity.

The Bible Knowledge Commentary: An Exposition of the Scriptures by Dallas Seminary Faculty.

Sincere men and women can disagreecan disagree on the timing and order of the end time events.

7

But Jesus WILLWILL catch away His church.

This old earth WILLWILL pass away:

"with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works

that are therein shall be burned up."

Page 8: 2 peter 3b

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolveddissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the Day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolveddissolved, and the elements shall meltmelt with fervent heat?

8

We must not livenot live our lives as if the things of this world are in any way permanentany way permanent.

We must live our lives looking looking forwardforward to eternityeternity with God.

Page 9: 2 peter 3b

13 Nevertheless we, according to His Promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligentbe diligent that ye may be found of Himfound of Him in peacein peace, without spotwithout spot, and blamelessblameless.

9

What do you want to be found doingbe found doing when

Jesus comes backJesus comes back?

Now; all the time.

15 And account that the long-suffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the Wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

10

Jesus promised He would come backcome back to receive usreceive us unto Himself.

If it seems likeseems like it's been a long time,

It is only because God wantsGod wants as many to be savedto be saved as willwill be saved.

16 As also in all his (Paul) epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrestwrest (twist)(twist) as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction. 17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastnesssteadfastness. 18But growgrow in Grace, and in the Knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever. Amen.

Paul did write some things that are not easy to understand, especially for the carnal mind.

12

Then let us seek to have our minds prepared for receiving things hard to be understood, by putting putting in practicein practice things which are more easy to be understood.

Matthew Henry Concise Bible Commentary.

Christian living is notnot hard to understand, if we are willing to submitwilling to submit to the Word of God.

The only thing that makes it complicatedcomplicated is when our stubborn mindstubborn mind is looking for loopholes.

This world is not my home, I'm only passing through.

My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue.

The angels beckon me from Heaven's open door, and I can't feel at home in this world anymore.

13

Just up in Glory Land we'll live eternallythe Saints on every hand are shouting victory.Their song of sweetest praise drifts back from

Heaven's shoreand I can't feel at home in this world anymore.
