Existing ProductI have chosen this particular magazine cover because of the layout and the genre. The magazine shows the main subject (Kurt Cobain) in the center of the magazine with a high key effect in order to give the impression that the photo was taken in a studio. The magazine has used a reverse to make the logo of the magazine stand out more and have only used three colours which consist of black, white and red. Having only used three colours on the cover it made the red stand out and drag attention the the magazine. Kurt Cobain, lead singer/guitarist of nirvana(the face of grunge) was inspiring and thought to be the voice for the generation in his time, both the band and Kurt cobain still inspire many people today.

Existing ProductI have chosen this particular magazine cover because it’s a music based magazine which is similar to my magazine ideas. The main subject on the magazine cover is a studio photo shoot, showing off his tattoos on his arm. The massed head has being edited portrait style almost like a reflection to Justin, to suggest that both the magazine and Justin Bieber are seen as equals and are both very popular. The magazine has used three colours, keeping the cover very simple. The colour of the Massed head is a orangey-pink which contrasts well with the dark blue back ground. Justin Bieber is considered to be one of the top ten most powerful celebrities in the world and inspires millions of people everyday.

Existing ProductI have chosen this magazine because it’s very popular around the globe. I decided to use this particular cover because Paramore is a very popular pop-punk band and have influenced and inspired many fans across the world. The main feature on the cover is Hayley Williams with the rest of the band behind her, this suggests to the audience that Hayley is the main person in the band. The editors have put the heading in a electric pink, they have done tis to make the heading stand out the most in the cover so that the audience immediately knows what the magazine is about. Underneath the heading the editors have used a rhetorical question, this is to make the audience think about the question and want to read the article.

Research Analysis• What common features do the researched products have?The celebrities that are featured are all very inspirational people in the music industry.They are all music related magazines that have a huge following.

They all have the heading in different colours to make the main topic stand out.

• What aspects of the research will you include within your on work?I think that I will include a portrait massed head because I think it makes the magazine cover looks more unique.

I think that I will include simple colours for my cover because of how effective they are.
