There will be location shoots, technical classes, demos, and 6 edit/critique sessions. This workshop will be the perfect place for you to expand your photographic skills, build on what you have learned and venture into the world of flash. Topics We Will Cover: Metering, Exposure, Reading Light Understanding Flash Using Multiple Flashes Story Development Editing Your Work Locations We Will Visit: Nice, Eze, Monte Carlo Gourges, Mougins, Cannes, Le Promenade Anglais The sweeping landscapes and medieval villages These locations are tentative and may change depending on weather and spontaneous photographic opportunities. About Us Joe McNally: Joe McNally is an internationally acclaimed photographer whose career has spanned 30 years and included assignments in more than 50 countries. A contributor to National Geographic magazine for more than two decades, Joe has published numerous cover stories, including "The Future of Flying" (December 2003). His assignments have taken him from the heart of India's Diwali celebrations to the deserts of the Middle East to China's Great Wall. American Photo magazine has described Joe as "perhaps the most versatile photojournalist working today" and listed him as one of their 100 Most Important People in Photography. Among his many awards, Joe has been honored as a member of Kodak-PDN Legends Online, and was named a Nikon Legend Behind the Lens. In 2010, he was voted one of the 30 most influential photographers of the decade by Photo District News. www.joemcnally.com Liza Politi: Liza’s first documentary feature, “By The People” (2006) was broadcast on PBS and won a prestigious HUGO award. Currently shooting "Best Seat in the House," a documentary focusing on Rock-star drummers, Liza is also in post- production on a new full-length feature, "Suck It Up Buttercup." For the famed Culture Project, Liza produced “Impact On The Gulf”, a multimedia action-oriented human rights festival which debuted in New York City; and in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, her USO-style tour, Broadway on the Bayou received national attention and was featured on MSNBC. Liza is now working with National Geographic and their legendary photographers, producing expeditions and photography workshops all over the world. Comfortable on both sides of the camera, she is also an award- winning actor and teacher. www.fancygirlstreetboy.com What you’ll need: *A digital camera (an SLR is preferred) *Your own laptop computer. It does not matter which platform you are using - Mac or PC - but it is important that your operating system is up-to-date (OSX, Windows 8 or VISTA). Please have at least 15-20 GB of open hard drive space and at least 1 GB of RAM (2 GB recommended). *Digital memory cards and a card reader (at least 3 or 4 cards of 2GB or more) *Power adapters and cables for laptop and digital camera *Batteries and charger for rechargeable batteries *Software for editing your images The price is $5945 per person. Includes- all accommodations, all breakfasts, 2 dinners, 1 lunch, internal transportation while in France. Does NOT include airfare to/from Europe. This workshop is limited to 16 participants. A $250 deposit is required to reserve a place in the workshop.
