On December 3rd, 2014, in excess of 200 delegates gathered for a Tourism Occupational Standards Conference to seek an effective mechanism for Vietnam tourism human resources development by establishing a strong partnership between the public and the private sector.

Rationale for VTOS

• Provide standards for service quality & skills enhancement for the Vietnam tourism industry

• Respond to the needs of industry for internationally-relevant/recognized tourism occupational standards and qualifications

• 10 Revised VTOS have been endorsed by VNAT / VTCB: FO, HK, FB, FP, OTG, HM, SAO, TBS, TG, TO

• Ensure Vietnam is ready to implement MRA-TP in 2015 by having tourism occupational standards that meets the requirements of ASEAN
