Thank you to all those brothers that paid 1999 and/or 1998 alumni dues. All of these dues have been deposite d as of the end ofNovember. On behalf of the current and prior Grand Council, I extend my apologies for the extreme delay in t he depositing ofdues received between February and October of 1999. Any alumni news or address changes will then be forwarded to the Executive Assistant.

Again, I apologize for the delay, and want to assure you that the dues will go toward the continued professional, educational andfraternal support of the student brotherhood.

Nicole A. Morris, (VITR '92)Worthy Grand Estimator-------- IIIIIIiI.

THE

FOUNDATIONSPEAKS...

Welcome to this new feature columnsponsored by the Foundation. It is our intent tohelp you understand how the Foundationbenefits our Fraternity by sharing stories of ourendeavors and accomplishments.

We want to be a valuable and trustedresource in your eyes. Hopefully, as we sharethe story of the Foundation your trust will growand we will be a great resource.

At National Convention, our Treasurer, SamDouglass, assured the Brothers that the Foundation wants to be a trusted partner. Among ourroles is to challenge our Brothers to "endow thefuture", so that future generations will be ableto enjoy the special fraternal spirit of AlphaRho Chi.

Our First Story...

You may not know that Brother "Dutch"Knowlton (DEME) recently made a large gift tothe School of Architecture at Ohio State. Sosignificant was the gift that the School of Arch itecture is to bear his name. You should alsoknow that Brother Knowlton challengedBrother Howard LeFevre to match his $25,000gift to our Foundation.

The $50,000 received from them helped theFoundation to have a good start. It hasallowed us to give scholarships and supportprofessional programs. We believe the impactof our Brothers' gifts to our Foundation may bemore significant to more people. Their generosity will impact the wellbeing of our Fraternityfor years to come.

Again, we want to say thanks to BrothersDutch and Howard for their leadership andhelp.

Note: Due to the generous gifts fromBrothers Knoulton and LeFever, we havebeen able to seed the scholarship andprofessional funds ~vith $10,000 each. Wenow are looking for a Brother who will matchgifts to these funds and encourage otherBrothers to contribute.
