Ventspils is hosting the international charity art project "CowParade" already for the second time in the history of the city. In summer 2002, ten years ago, Ventspils became the �rst city in Eastern Europe holding this large-scale public art event. "CowParade Ventspils 2012" features 24 creative artist-made cow sculptures put on display in Ventspils streets, parks and squares and free to the public all summer long. After the exhibition, cows are auctioned o� and everyone who likes to place a bid is allowed on the auction. Auction proceeds are earmarked to bene�t a charitable cause.
