STARTING PROCE DURE Shall be as set out in Ap pen dix “L”. 9.1 Ra ce D istance In order that the Championship may be equal at all circuits, a minimum race length of 30Kms with a maximum of 60kms will be set for all races. A race of  shorter length will be deemed ineligible for points or pr ize-money, exc ept as below. In the event of the prem ature stopp ing of the race f or safety reasons, after 50% of the race has been completed the race is deemed to have finished and will be el igible for full point s and p rize mon ey. APPENDIX "J" (I)DUN LOP SUPERCAR - TECHN ICAL REGULATION S 2005

1. INTRODUCTIONThe following Technical Regulations are set out inaccordance with the specified format and it should beclearly understood that if the following text does notclearly specify that you can do it you should work onthe pr inciple that you cannot.2. GENERAL DESCRIPTIONT h e D u n l o p S u p e r C a r C h a m p i o n s h i p i s f o rcompetitors participating in vehicles as designed bySHP Motorspor t L imi ted and bu i l t express ly tocomply with th e Champ ionship Regulations.

3. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS3.1 Safety Roll-over Stru ctures w ill be as supp lied asstandard with the car kit.3.2 Safety harness may be of four or a six point typewith a quick release buckle. The minimum shoulderstrap size is to be 2” for drivers weighing less than175 lbs. 3” wide belt are advised and are compulsory

for driver weighing more than 175lbs.All bolts and eyes used to fix harness to the floor mustbe a minimum of 10mm in d iameter and fitted w ith aminimu m of 10 gauge reinforcement p late which is tobe weld ed to the chassis.3.3 T h e fi r e e xt i n g u i s h e r m u s t b e a n a p p r o v e dplumbed in type. The reservoir must not be mountedin front of the drivers seat. The mountings are to bestrong enough to resist the rigors of Supercar racingand ideally bolted to the chassis. The pull cable orbutton must be placed beside the electrical cut-outs w i t c h , w h i c h i s p o s i t i o n e d j u s t i n f r o n t o f t h ewindscreen on the left hand side of the car, and beclearly marked. The cable / button inside the car mu st

be within easy reach of the driver. The safety pinmu st be removed at all times wh en on th e circuit.

4. GENERAL TECHNICAL REQUIREMEN TS &EXCEPTIONS4.1 Fuel tank will be free. The tank mu st be fittedwi th a ven tp ipe o r p ipes wh ich have non re tu r nvalves fitted. The fuel tank must remain in it originalposition and may be fitted w ith removable brackets.4.2 The only petrol permitted is that w hich is boughtfrom a Roadside Service Stat ion and can only beUnleaded. This is to be used as purchased with noadditives what-so-ever. Random fuel testing will beca r r i ed ou t th rou ghout the season e ithe r a t r acemeetings or at Supercar test d ays, practices or races.

4.3 Batteries mu st be confined to w ithin the w heelb a s e o f t h e v e h i c l e a n d m u s t b e f i t t e d w i t happropria te covers and re ta ining brackets . I f thebattery is fitted insid e the vehicle it mu st be of the d rycell type. A battery master isolation switch or pullcable must be fitted and positioned externally just infront of the front wind screen, to the left han d side of the vehicle and clearly marked. There also must be afacility for the driver to operate the isolation switchfrom the d riving position.4.4 An alternator must be fitted to the engine andmust be operational at all times. The pulleys may bec h a n g e d t o v a r y s p e e d s a n d d i f f e r e n t b e l t

configuratons may be used.4.5 LED/ digital dashes and d ata logging systems areacceptable.4.6 A facility to record lap times is permitted to befitted to the car.

4.7 T h e u s e o f a n y t w o o r o n e w a y r a d i o s t ocommunicate between the pits and the car is expresslyforbidden.4.8 The car must be fitted with two front headlightsand indicator lamps as fitted to Ford Mondeo 2002mod e l . I t mus t a l so be f it t ed w i th two rea r l igh tclusters as fitted to Ford Mondeo 2002 model. TheFront l ights and rear ra in l ights must run on oneswitch, brake lights mu st be working. The rain lightmay be on the rear lamp cluster or inside the rearwindow.4.9.1 A rearward facing high level brake light of theant i -crash type, working in conjunct ion with theoriginal brake lights must be fitted to the centre of therear screen minimum 21 watts. Width surface are,minimum 20mm 2 maximum 40mm 2

4.10 For the 2005 season the use of custom fitted air jacks is perm itted.

4.11 At th e start of each even t p ractice or ra ce, each carwil l be presented in a m anner that represents theformula. The eligibility scrutineer reserves the rightnot to issue the relevant paperw ork to allow the car tobe scrutineered if it is felt not to be of an acceptablestandard of preparation.4.12 The engine shall be a control unit from a singlemanufacturer. Scholar engines can be contacted directfor su pp ly of eng ine u nits - 00 44 1449 767711.The engine and electronic contr ol units will be markedand sealed by Scholar and any tam pering with seals orunits will deem them to be illegal and will carry theapp ropriate penalties for the competitor.The E.C.U. should be mounted for easy accessibility

and examination. All ECUs are to be made availablefor random distribution at the request of the Chief Scrutineer or Clerk of the Course.4.13 Competitors and teams have to subm it comp onentsand specification changes prior to them being used inwr iting to the eligibility scrutineer. They will or will notgive authorisation as they see fit. The Irish TouringAssociation reserve the right to exclude any componentor development changes if it is felt that these changesare not in the spirit of the sport or will adversely affectthe fo rmula in any way wha t - so -ever. The c lassscrutineer has the r ight at any time to exchange any partor item on the car that is of a controlled unit with a newreplacement. This will be done to check the authenticity

or specification of the original item concerned. The partsor item m ay not be returned .5. CHASSIS5.1 The only chassis permit ted to be u sed is thatsupplied under licence from SHP Motorsports Ltd.The vehicle concept and design must not be changedin any way or form. No material may be added orremoved. All relevant brackets must be retained intheir original positions with n o extension or adap tersto allow for different applications. The brackets are tobe used as originally intend ed.5.2 A sump guard m ay be fi t ted und er the sumponly. It must be fitted tightly to the chassis rails andhave no gaps. No aerodynamic devices may be fitted

to the vehicle whatsoever. This includes any areasun der the line of the chassis rails.It is not permitted to d rill or cut any type of holes intoany parts of the chassis or bracketing systems nor anycomponents that are supplied under contract by thelicenced supplier for any reason especially lightening,a c i d d i p p i n g , b e a d a n d s a n d b l a s t i n g o f a n y

component is not allowed.5.3 At the commencement o f any o ff i ca l t e s t ing ,qualifying session or race, the car must be fitted withboth protective floor panels as supplied under licencefrom SHP Motorsport Ltd.5.4 It is permitted to weld a support bracket onto therear bumper to support the new boot lid and spoilerassembly.5.5 The rear bump er bar may to extend ed, to allow for

the current bod ywork. The extension may be no morethan 170mm from the existing bum per frames. Thet u b i n g m u s t b e 2 5 m m t h i c k o r l e s s w i t h a w a l lthickness of no more than 2mm .

6. BODYWORK6.1 T h e o n l y b o d y k i t a l l o w e d f o r t h e 2 0 0 5C h a m p i o n s h i p i s Lt d t h a t a p p r o v e d b y t h e I r i s hTo u r i n g C a r A s s o s i ca t i o n . T h e b o d y k i t c a r r i e sauthorisation of copy rights and mu st not be mod ifiedin any w ay or form. Panels are not permitted to bethickened or to be reproduced by any other companyor persons. No pan els may be bond ed together to formone piece either at the front or rear. Stringent checkswill be carried out to prove the authenticity of the

panels and their thickness. It is permitted to repairdamaged bodywork.6.2 The body panels may not be bonded or modifiedin any way.6.3 Cooling d ucts are f i t ted into the f ront p anels .Radiator air duct Part no. CR27. These are the onlyones allowed. No other ducts, apertures or holes arepermitted in any other panels. It is permitted to fitopenings in the w indows for cooling and releasing theair pressure within th e car.6.4 T h e d o o r p a n e l s m u s t b e f i t t e d a s o r i g i n a lspecification.6.5 The bonnet mu st be fitted w ith at least five bonnetpins - two at the rear and two at the front and one atthe center of the front grill where it m eets the bump er.T h e r e a r c o v e r m u s t b e f it t e d w i t h a t l e a s t fo u rretainers and m ust be in the shu t position at all times.6.6 The rear wing and brackets must be f i t ted ass u p p l ie d b u t a d d i t io n a l h o l e s m a y b e d r i l le d t ofacilitate ad justm ent.6.7 At all times the presentation of the car must be inkeeping with the image and prof i le to which thisformula has been marketed.6.8 The windscreen must be fitted at all times. It mustbe in a condi t ion wh ere vis ion is not imp aired byscratches, cracking, chips etc. and is suitably clear at all

t imes when racing. I t must be laminated and i t i spermissible for an electrically heated type to be used.Both sides of the heated screen must operate on oneswitch.6.9 The vehicle must be f i t ted w ith a w indscreenwiper system which clears the required areas to thefront of the dr iver. It mu st be operational at all times.6.10 The fitting of rear view mirrors one interior andone on each s ide external ly is compu lsory. Theseshould be in keeping w ith the presentat ion of theformula.

6.11 All cars must be fitted with towing eyes on thefront and the rear of the car which must not protrude

outside the lines of the body panels. The towing eyesMUST be bright in colour and clearly defined. Theymu s t be connec ted to the main chass i s and be o f suitable strength to stand a full weight tow of thevehicle.6.12 Only competition seats are permitted. These mu stbe fitted with approved mounting brackets. The seal

mu st be firmly attached to the chassis. Head restraintsare compulsory and must be built into the seat. Theminimum height of the rest is to be the centre of thedr iver’s eye level.6.13 Wheel liners are p ermitted to prevent cond esationwithin the cars.7. ENGINE/GEARBOX MOUNTINGS7.1 The engine and gearbox mountings are fitted bythe licenced chassis constructor. These positions mustbe maintained.7.2 Oil/ Water Cooling :All radiators or cool ing f luid containers must beforward of the front bulkhead. The radiator may bemad e of steel or aluminum but mu st be mou nted on theoriginal production brackets welded to the chassis. Thismust be done without the use of adaptors. The radiatormust be fit ted to the cooling system or associateddevices must be with in the internals of the engine bay.7.3 Induction System:Air cleaners mu st be used at all times.8. EXHAUST SYSTEMSThe only permitted exhaust man ifold and front pipe isthe one app roved by th e ITCA. The exhaust mu st have

one large silencer fitted and it must exit through therear bodywork in the opening provided .9. SUSPENSIONSAll susp ension has to be u sed as sup plied by th e licencechassis constructor. The suspension components ,including the axle configurat ion, pick-up points ,mounting brackets and the design of parts, cannot bemodified in any way or form except for Rose jointswhich may be substituted for an exact copy but in adifferent material specification. Reproduction partsmust not be used. Lock nuts and suspension rubberbushes mu st remain a stand ard size , rear suspensionarm bushes, part no. Powerflex PFR19-111 must beused. No rose joint or metal bushes allowed. Rearsubf rame camber and t r ack eccen t r i c bo l t s a repermitted.9.2 Springs must be a single piece unit 2.25 inch IDtype either 7”, 8” or 9” free length. Rates are free butthe spring m ust replace the original un it and fit in thesame m anner w ithout any mod ifications what-so-ever.9.3 Roll bars may be changed for a different materialwal l th ickness, but they m ust rem ain ident ical inshape and des ign as the o r ig ina ls . They m us t bemounted on the same chassis brackets using he samealloy blocks and the same adjusting system. No rollbars or shock absorbers may be adjustable from thedriver’s seat. Various sizes of roll bar are available.The only rol l bars perm it ted to be used are those

nu mb ered as follows : 4, 6 and 8.9.4 The only permitted shock absorbers are thosesup p l ied u nd er l i cence from Leda Suspen s ion , acontrolled unit built to Supercar specification. Thesemust not be re-valved, restroked, have the oil changedor be mod ified in any w ay or form.9.5 The only bump stops allowed are of a total of 50mm in length and it is not permitted to use them tocontrol the ride height or th e suspension movement.9.6 The front track w idth is 1720mm

The rear track w idth is 1695mmThe total w heel base, centre to centre is 2,413mmThis measurement is read from the side wall of

the tyre at the p oint of contact to the ground .9.7 Ride h eight (exclud ing front sp oiler)There must be a minimum clearance of 75mm underthe car (Slick tyres)There must be a minimum clearance of 75mm underthe car (Wet tyres)

10. TRANSMISSION10.1 The only gearbox perm it ted is the Qu alfe s ixspeed Rocket/ Sierra sequential gearbox. The casingcan be made of either aluminum or cast iron. The ratiospecification is

The propshaft must be one piece, steel type with am i n i m u m s iz e o f 2. 5” d i a m e t er a n d a p p r o p r i a t eun iversal joints to suit.The flywh eel is part of the engine installation andmust not be changed or modified in any way. Thes t a r te r m o t o r m u s t b e m o u n t e d i n t h e s t a n d u pposition forward of the bell housing and operationalat all times.10.2 The aluminum parts permitted in the transmissionunless fitted as standard, is a thick gearbox cover topand casing to give add itional strength to the gearbox.10.3 The clutch u nit w ill come fit ted to the control

engine. This can be rep laced w ith an u prated unit onceit remains a single plate type and conforms to thedimensions of the original.10.4 No other ad di t ional e lectronics may be f i t tedwithin the engine management system, which wouldfacilitate the engine to op erate traction control.

11. DRIVE11.1 The only rear axle perm itted is a 7 inch as fitted toa Ford Sierra. The axle must be located by the originall i n k s a n d p i c k u p s . I t i s p e r m i t t e d t o i n s e r t aremovable section in the rear axle beam to facilitatep r o p s h a f t r e m o v a l . L o ck e d , f r e e o r l i m i t e d s l ipd i ffe ren t i a l s a re a l lowed , bu t no d rop gear typedifferentials are permitted. The permitted final driveratio is 3.92:1The material content and the sizes of the differentialsplines of the halfshafts is free but must be a directrep lacement no t chang ing the o r ig ina l des ign o rcharacteristics of its op erations.12. BRAKES12.1 The only perm itted brakes are as appr oved by theITCA.Part numbers:Front brake calliper is Willwood 4 pot superlite II APar t nu mb er 120-3194 (1.38) RH or LH .Rear brake calliper is Willwood dynalite Part number120-8724 .It is permitted to fit 10m thick support brackets to therear callipers.Rear brake disc – Lockheed Part no. BG 2376 – ApexDSK 123. Solid disc, no grooves or lightening of discallowed.12.2 The brake pad and its material content are free.12.4 No form of handbrake is perm itted on the vehicle.

13. WHEELS/STEERING13.1 T h e o n l y p e r m i t t e d w h e e l s a r e t h o s em a n u f a c t u r e d b y C o m p o m o t i v e W h e e l s a n dspecifically designed for the Supercars. Wheels areavai lable through the approved ITCA suppl ier ordirect from th e manu facturer. The par t nu mber isMO1570-D.13.2 (removed)13.3 The dimension of the wheels are 7” x 15” andmay not be mod ified in any way or form.13.4 It is permitted to fit a wheel spacer to the rearwh eels up to 10mm in size.

13.5 TRACKThe maximum track permitted is 1760mm on the frontand 1725mm on the rear.

14. TYRES15.1 The only tyres permitted are:Du nlop slicks 185/ 580R15, limited to 32 tyres for aseason. All tyres must be registered with the classcoordinator and only tyres registered before practicemay be used d uring a race.Dun lop w et 185/ 580 R15 Circuit Spor t WetThe identification numbers of the tyres must be fittedfacing outw ards.15.2 These may n ot be cut or altered in any w ay fromthat supplied by the manufacturer. No tyre may bebuffed, re-trimmed, faced or by any mechanical orhand held device what-so-ever. Tyre warmers, spaceheaters or any similar devices for heating or softeningthe tyre comp ound are not permitted at any time. Theuse of any chemical mixture that is p laced in th ev i c i n i t y o f , o r a p p l i e d t o t h e t y r e t h a t w o u l dr e s t r u c t u r e t h e c o m p o u n d o f t h e t y r e , i s a l s oprohibited.

15.3 Test tyres are limited to 4 tyres per season.

15.4 Each competitor is allowed to nominate 4 newt y r e s f o r e a c h e v e n t . I f a c o m p e t i t o r d o e s n o tparticipate in an event the tyre allocation for thatevent is lost. Any logged tyres are free to be usedwh en chosen. Please refer to article 15.6 regard ing theuse of replacemen t of tyres. A used tyre is defined asa t y r e , w h i c h h a s b e e n n o m i n a t e d o n a t y r enomination form at a previous round . For the firstr o u n d t h i s w i l l b e u n d e r t h e d i s c r e t i o n o f t h eChamp ionship Co-ordinator or Scrutineers.All other tyres are deemed to be new tyres.

15.5 Each competitor must nominate, on the formprovided by the ITCA the manufacturers numbers of the tyres for use a t the event . This form must behand ed to the Scrutineers prior to the start of the firstqu alifying session.The nomination of tyres is specific to the driver. If thedriver changes team, or cars in a team, then he/ shemu st use tyres previously declared for his/ her use,plus any new tyres up to the maximum permitted bythese regulation.

15.6 The replacement of tyres is subject to the prioragreement of the Series Eligbility/ Safety scrutineerand a representative from Du nlop Tyres.

16. WEIGHTS16.1 The weight of the car with the driver must be965kg minimu m.16.2 The weight of a car can be checked at any timed u r i n g a r a c e m e e t i n g , p r a c t i c e o r p o s t r a c escrutineering at w hich time no fluids or m aterials maybe added or taken away. Where bal las t has to beadded, to bring the car to a regulation weight, thismay only be positioned within the centre of all fourroad w heels.

17. NUMBERS & SERIES DECALS17.1 C o m p e t i t i o n n u m b e r s m u s t b e f i t t e d i naccordance with MI Regulations in conjunction withthe Sup er-Car ITCA requirements. The drivers namem u s t a p p e a r o n t h e r ea r s id e w i n d o w s a n d t h esponsors name will appear on the top of the frontwindscreen.17.2 No advertising, colouring or obstru ctions m ay beadded to any clear areas or glass other than thosespecified.
