RS models are rare around the world. They are not a foregone conclusion.RS is an abbreviation that sums up the ultimate high performance of whichan Audi is capable.

If they become available, they come about every 5-7 years per body style.The Audi RS 4 is absolute Audi, the highest-performance Audi in terms of size and performance. This is the best that the A4/S4/RS 4 line gets. We have it in North America for 2.5 yearsuntil the end of model year 2008. It will be sold in the hundredsper year while for sale in North America.

2007 Audi RS 4 quattro permanent all-wheel drive featuring assymetrica/dynamic "40/60 rear-biased" technology 12 Most automakers offering all-wheel drive have an electronically-controlled system that only offers marginal functionality.Audi pioneered the mechanical quattro® permanent all-wheel drive system that is unique among its competitorsbecause it offers real power and controlled performance in all types of situations, including tight curves or inclement weather.Now with S4 manual models and RS 4, there is a new rear-biased system that gives an even more sporty aspect for that extra "kick."

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS & EXPLANATION:Quattro® mechanically transfers real power to various wheels at different times based on the following four situations outlined below.This permanent all-wheel drive system is groundbreaking in that it was and continues to be used on sporty passenger carapplications, where it can handle aggressive driving styles and situations, inclement weather, and enhance cornering stability.

The advantages to a 40/60 split (known as "asymmetrical/dynamic quattro system) are more sportiness, more emphasis on powertoward the rear of the vehicle for optimized cornering. It has a self-locking Torsen® differential with asymmetrical dynamic distribution.

With no action required by the driver, the car responds without delay to changes in the road surface, and compensates for them, so the straight-line andcornering stability are both optimized. The quattro® driveline, maintains sufficient traction for forward progress well after other driveline technologieshave reached their limits.

2007 Audi RS 4 Dynamic Ride Control 12

Precise steering, with sensitive feedback, sporty agility, and excellent directional stability make the RS 4 the perfect car for both the highway, country road, or race track.

Dynamic Ride Control is only offered in RS models, which are very rare, don't come in all Audi body styles, and come about everyfive years. Dynamic Ride Control appeared in the RS 6 that was sold in USA and Canada, and the RS 4 for USA and Canadais no exception. The benefits are that it greatly reduces pitch and roll on a mechanical basis and is razor sharp in itsbehavior on all road surfaces and conditions.

Reducing pitch and roll is accomplished by interconnecting the dampers diagonally by way of a central valve. Body movementswhen driving off are largely eliminated in this way, as are pitching movements when braking, or rolling when cornering fast.RS 4 Dynamic Ride Control employs no electronics whatsoever.

Each wheel on the front axle is guided by four aluminum transverse links. The trapezium-link rear axle offers top-class driving dynamics.This torsion-proof and non-flexing trapzium link absorbs a large portion of the forces acting on the wheel. Together with the track link further to the rear, this special configuration defines the elastokinematic behavior of the rear axle with ultimate precision.

RS 4 brakes are extremely responsive and feature 8 pistons per brake in the front and one piston in the rear. They fit a minimum 255/40 R18 wheel setup and have cross-drilled rotors.Combined with ESP 8.0 Traction control with all anti-slip/roll mechanismsof the car in its steering, braking, and suspension, the brake disc wiping feature of theESP 8.0 system tops off an industry-leading safety setup.

The brakes are designed in a floating arrangement, meaning that the cast-iron friction ringof the brake system is bolted onto the aluminum brake disc cover. The result is a significant improvement of the brake's resistance to fading, particularly on extreme loads.A further result of this technology is a reduction in unsprung masses.

All RS 4 models also have a sport mode button that (1) makes the accellerator throttle mapping more aggressive and(2) loudens the exhaust sound

A4/S4 sedan/Avant are available with optional bluetooth capability and voice command controls (see below)

A4/S4 Cabriolet are available with optional bluetooth but not voice command control. Cabriolet customers are still able to hold hands-free conversations, however the command function is notavailable.

Note: A6 and A8 have a fiber optic electrical network and can support a larger amount of voice commandfeatures for other vehicle functions. A4/S4 sedan/Avant voice command only works with phone functions.

Customers should check their owner's manuals for more detailed command instructions,as well as how to synchronize their bluetooth phones to their cars (FYI: customers with bluetoothphones can't just step into their cars and start using the phones. The phones must be synched with the car the first time in use and then the car will recognize the phone thereafter to varying degrees depending on whether the technology fully works together with the car).

If a customer has a bluetooth phone, it does not guarantee that the customer has full functionality to integrate phone directories.
