Working with UP: Key Points to Remember • Contact Union Pacific EARLY in the process

– Don’t wait until the project is totally designed or under construction, and then put Union Pacific on the critical path for approval

– Do contact Union Pacific early to understand the likely approval timeline, and to help Union Pacific understand your project timing requirements

– Communicate, Communicate, Communicate

• Follow Union Pacific’s specifications, standards, guidelines and policies

– Deviations from standards will necessitate additional review and will extend review time

– Use Consultants familiar with Railroad requirements
