Telephone-based; Land Lines and Cell Phones Over 16,000 NYC residents aged 18+; 13,500

randomly selected households All households contacted by mail

Nearly two-thirds of all weekday trips are not for work purposes

Weekday transit-only trips are evenly split between work and “other” purpose trips

Work is the predominant purpose for all trips between 6 and 10 AM on weekdays

Overall, 94% of weekday trips between 6-10 AM trips stayed within NYC, 6% leave NYC

Of the 6%, Queens is the predominant generator
