Driver Information Center (Base Level)

The base level Driver Information Center(DIC), located above the infotainmentsystem, displays the time, outside tem-perature, date, trip computer information(if equipped), vehicle warning messagesand audio system information. DIC ControlsThere are two ways to scroll throughmost DIC menus and to change thesettings:• Use the left and right arrow buttons

and the OK button on the infotain-ment system.

• Use the left thumbwheel (if equipped)on the steering wheel.

System SettingsThe System Settings menu includes thefollowing items: time, date, ignition logic,language and units of measure.To navigate the System Settings menu,use the buttons on the infotainmentsystem:1. Press the Settings button.2. Press the left arrow button to display

the System menu. 3. Press the OK button to enter the

System menu. Continue to press theOK button to scroll through the menuitems.

4. To adjust the setting of a menu item,press the left or right arrow button toscroll through the menu item settings.

5. Press the OK button to record thedisplayed setting and scroll to thenext menu item.

Resetting the Trip Odometer

• To display the trip odometer on theinstrument panel cluster, press thereset button located next to thespeedometer.

• To reset the trip odometer, pressand hold the reset button forapproximately one second.

Trip ComputerTo access the trip computer information: • Press the Board Computer (BC)

button and use the left or right arrowbutton on the infotainment systemto scroll through the trip computerinformation

• Press the left thumbwheel (ifequipped) on the steering wheel androtate it up or down to scroll throughthe trip computer information.

The trip computer includes:• Instantaneous fuel consumption

(current fuel economy)• Average (Ø) fuel consumption• Trip fuel consumption (fuel used)• Average (Ø) speed• Trip distance• Range (fuel range until empty)• Stop watch (timer)Resetting the Trip ComputerTo reset the average fuel consumption,trip fuel consumption, average speedand trip distance information:1. Press the BC button on the infotain-

ment system or the left thumbwheelon the steering wheel.

2. Press the left or right arrow button onthe infotainment system or rotate theleft thumbwheel to select the desiredinformation.

3. Press the OK button on the infotain-ment system or the left thumbwheelfor two seconds to reset the selectedfunction or for four seconds to resetall functions.

Driver Information Center(Uplevel) (if equipped)

The uplevel Driver Information Center(DIC) displays the time, outside temper-ature, date, trip computer, vehiclewarning messages and audio systeminformation. The DIC is located abovethe infotainment system. DIC Controls

The DIC features various types ofmenu pages that are structured in levelssimilar to the folders on a computer.There are two ways to scroll throughthe DIC menus and change the settings:• Use the multifunction knob on the

infotainment system.• Use the left thumbwheel (if equipped)

on the steering wheel.

• Press the Board Computer (BC)button or select the Board Computermenu using the multifunction knob orthe left thumbwheel to access BC1,BC2 or the Timer.

BC1 and BC2 functions include:• Distance traveled• Average (Ø) speed• Effective fuel consumption (fuel used)• Average (Ø) fuel consumption

(average fuel economy)

To reset BC1 or BC2:1. Select BC1 or BC2 using the multi-

function knob or the left thumbwheel.2. Select the desired function by turning

the multifunction knob or rotating theleft thumbwheel.

3. Press the multifunction knob or theleft thumbwheel to reset the selectedfunction.

4. To reset all information, select menuitem All Values.

To navigate through the DIC functionsand Settings menus:1. Turn the multifunction knob on the

infotainment system to the right orrotate the left thumbwheel on thesteering wheel down to highlight thenext menu item. Turn the multifunc-tion knob to the left or rotate the leftthumbwheel up to return to theprevious menu item.

2. Press the multifunction knob or leftthumbwheel to select a highlightedmenu item.

3. Turn the multifunction knob or rotatethe left thumbwheel to scroll throughthe settings for the selected menuitem.

4. Press the multifunction knob or leftthumbwheel to make changes to thesettings.

5. Select the Main button or rotate themultifunction knob or left thumbwheeluntil Main is highlighted at the bottomof the dislay and press to exit themenu item and return to the mainmenu.

System SettingsThe System Settings menu includes thefollowing items: time and date, lan-guage, units of measure, contrast,day/night and ignition logic.• Press the Settings button and then

turn the multifunction knob or the leftthumbwheel to scroll through theSettings menu items.

Trip ComputerThe Trip Computer main menu providesinformation on fuel range (until empty)and instantaneous fuel consumption(current fuel economy).

The Remote KeylessEntry (RKE) trans-mitter allows you tolock and unlock yourvehicle and performother functions whileoutside the vehicle.RKE functionsinclude:

(Unlock): Press this button tounlock all the doors, liftgate and fuelfill door.

(Lock): Press this button to lockall the doors, liftgate and fuel fill door.The doors will not lock if the driver’sdoor is open.KeyThe vehicle’s key, used for the ignitionand all locks, is located inside the RKEtransmitter. • To extend or retract the key, press the

button on the RKE transmitter.Security System• To arm the content theft-deterrent

alarm system, press the (Lock)button on the RKE transmitter.

• To disarm the system, press the (Unlock) button on the RKE transmit-ter or turn on the ignition.

Comfort Open WindowsThe Comfort Open feature allows you touse the RKE transmitter to lower thevehicle’s windows. This is especiallyhelpful when entering the vehicle onwarm days. Lowering the windows letswarm air inside the vehicle escape,enabling the interior to be cooled moreefficiently.

Remote Keyless Entry

Driver Information CenterWarnings and Messages

The Driver Information Center (DIC)provides a variety of vehicle warningmessages (depending on optionalequipment) if a problem is sensed in avehicle system. To acknowledge a message and clear itfrom the display:• Press the OK button on the infotain-

ment system (CD30, CD30 MP3radio).

• Press the multifunction knob(if equipped) on the infotainmentsystem (CDC40 Opera radio).

• Press the left thumbwheel(if equipped) on the steering wheel.

Some urgent messages cannot becleared from the DIC display. Thesemessages require that your vehicle beserviced immediately.If you have a current OnStar subscrip-tion, and a warning message appears,you can press the OnStar button andspeak to an OnStar Advisor. In manyvehicles, OnStar Advisors can accesscertain diagnostic information and cantell you how serious the problem is andwhat you should do about it.

Note: Your vehicle’s warnings andmessages provide critical informationthat can prevent damage to your vehi-cle. Review your Owner Manual tobecome familiar with the informationdisplayed and the action required.

Door Locks

OnStar®

Your vehicle may feature the OnStarSafe & Sound Plan or the uplevelOnStar Directions & Connections Plan,with one year of OnStar service from thedate you purchased your new vehicle.With the help of OnStar Advisors, whoare available 24 hours a day, 7 days aweek, OnStar offers a wide variety ofsafety and driver assistance capabilities,including the following services: • Driving Directions with Turn-by-Turn

Navigation• Automatic Notification of Airbag

Deployment

The central locking button is located onthe center of the instrument panel nearthe hazard warning flashers button. • Press the (Central Locking)

button to lock or unlock all doors,liftgate and the fuel fill door.

The indicator light on the button will illuminate when the doors are locked.The doors will not lock if the driver’sdoor is open.With the key in the ignition, all doorsmust be closed to lock them.Child Security LocksThe rear doors on 5-door models featurechild security locks, located on theinside edge of each rear door, that pre-vent passengers from opening the reardoors from the inside.• To set the locks, insert a key into the

slot and turn it to the horizontal posi-tion. To return the door to normaloperation, turn the slot to the verticalposition.

The interior lamps turn on briefly whenthe door is unlocked by pressing the

(Unlock) button on the RemoteKeyless Entry transmitter or by usingthe key in the driver’s door lock cylinder.Delayed HeadlampsThe headlamps exit delay can turn onthe headlamps and other exterior lampsfor 30 seconds to light your path whenexiting the vehicle. To activate the delayed headlamps:1. Turn off the ignition and remove the key.2. Open the driver’s door.3. Pull the multifunction lever on the left

side of the steering column towardyou.

Entry and Exit Lighting• To lower the windows, with thevehicle unlocked, press and hold the

(Unlock) button.See Section 1 of your Owner Manual.

Seatback Adjustment• To adjust the position of the front

seatbacks, turn the knob (B) on thelower-outboard side of the seat.

Driver’s Seat Height Adjustment• To raise or lower the driver’s seat,

ratchet the lever (C) on the outboardside of the driver’s seat cushion up ordown repeatedly.

Driver’s Seat Lumbar Adjustment(if equipped)

• To adjust the amount of driver’s seatlumbar support, turn the knob on theinboard side of the driver’s seatback.

Front Seat Adjustments

Seat Adjustment• To adjust the fore/aft position of the

front seats, lift the bar (A) under thefront of the seat and move the seatto the desired position; then releasethe bar.

Head Restraint Adjustments

• To adjust the front and rear outboardhead restraints up or down, press thebutton on the side of the restraint andmove the restraint to the desiredlevel.

Adjust the driver’s seat to a comfortableposition before adjusting the steeringwheel. To adjust the position of the steeringwheel:1. Push the lever down on the bottom-

left side of the steering column.2. Adjust the wheel to a comfortable

position by moving the steeringcolumn up or down and moving thesteering wheel in or out.

3. Pull the lever up to lock the wheelin place.

Steering Wheel Adjustment

• To adjust the rear-seat center headrestraint, press the buttons at thebottom of the posts of the restraintand move the restraint to the desiredlevel.

See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.

For easy entry to, or exit from, the rearseats:1. Slide the

lever upon the top-outboardside of theseatbackand tilt theseatbackforward.

2. Slide the entire seat forward.To return the seat to the upright position:1. Slide the entire seat rearward.2. Slide the lever up on the top-outboard

side of the seatback and tilt the seat-back rearward.

3. Pull on the seatback to make sure itis locked in place.

Easy Entry Seats (3-Door Models only)

The heatedseat buttonsare locatedon the cen-ter of theinstrumentpanel.• Press the (Heated Seat) button to

activate the heated seat. Continue to press the button to cyclethrough the temperature settings of High(three indicator lights), Medium (twoindicator lights), Low (one indicatorlight), and Off (no indicator lights).See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.

Climate Controls

The climate control system includes thefollowing functions:

Air Delivery Mode: Turn the left knob(A) to change the direction of the airdelivery to the bi-level, vent, defog,defog/floor or floor mode.Temperature Control: Turn the centerknob (B) to raise or lower the tempera-ture setting.Fan Speed Control: Turn the right knob(C) to change the fan speed.

(Fan): Turn the fan speed controlknob (C) to this position to turn off thesystem.

(Air Conditioning) (if equipped):Press this button (D) to turn the air con-ditioning system on or off.

(Recirculation): Press this button(E) to recirculate air inside the vehicle.This mode helps heat or cool the vehiclemore quickly and prevents outside airand odors from entering the vehicle. Therecirculation mode will not operate whenthe defog mode is selected.

(Rear Window Defogger): Pressthis button (F) to turn the rear windowdefogger and the heated outsiderearview mirrors on or off. The defoggerand heated mirrors will turn off afterapproximately 15 minutes.Preventing Window FoggingTo reduce window fogging:1. Turn the Air Delivery Mode knob

(A) to select the defog/floor mode

or the defog mode (recirculation willnot function in this mode).

2. Turn on the fan (C).3. Turn on the air conditioning (D).4. Turn off the recirculation mode (E)

(if active).When the recirculation mode is usedwithout the air conditioning, the airhumidity increases and the windowsmay fog.See Section 7 of your Owner Manual.

Ignition LogicThe Ignition Logic feature enables theinfotainment system to turn on and offautomatically when the ignition is turnedon and off. If Ignition Logic is disabled, the infotain-ment system can be turned on only bypressing the (Power) knob or byinserting a CD.

If the infotainment system is turned offwhen the ignition is turned off, it can beturned on only by pressing the (Power) knob or by inserting a CD,regardless of whether Ignition Logic isenabled.To enable/disable Ignition Logic:1. Press the Settings button.2. Select the System menu by pressing

the left arrow button.3. Press the OK button until Ignition

Logic On or Off is displayed.4. Press the left or right arrow button to

select the desired status of On or Off.5. Exit the System menu.Audio System FeaturesWhile most of the features on your radiowill look familiar, some of the followingmay be new:

(Power/Volume): Press this knobto turn the system on or off. Turn theknob to adjust the volume.

(Tune): Press these buttons tosearch radio stations or, when a CD isplaying, to go to the next or previoustrack or MP3 file. FM/AM: Press this button to switch tothe FM or AM band. When playing a CD,press this button to switch to the radio.CD/MP3: Press this button to switch toCD operation.1…9 (Preset Stations): Press thesebuttons to access 9 preset radio stationson up to four bands (FM, FM-AS, AM,AM-AS).SOUND: Press this button to accessSound settings, including fade, balance,bass and treble.SETTINGS: Press this button to accessSystem and Sound settings, including

preset tone colors (equalization) andspeed-dependent volume control.BC (Board Computer): Press thisbutton to display Board Computerinformation (also known as trip computer).OK: Confirm selection or page forwardin the Settings menus.AS (Autostore): Press this button toautomatically store the 9 stations withthe strongest signal on the selectedband (FM or AM) or to access the FM-AS or AM-AS band.SCN (Preset Scan): Press this button toscan preset radio stations.LOC (Local): This function uses twosearch levels to find strong signals andweak signals. Press this button to turnthe local search function on or off.Setting Preset StationsBefore making adjustments to settingson the audio system, park the vehicle.

To manually store preset stations:1. Press the FM/AM button to select the

desired band.2. Tune in the desired radio station.3. Press and hold one of the 9 num-

bered buttons for approximately twoseconds to store the station.

4. Repeat the steps for each pushbuttonon each page.

Note: Engaging in extended searchingfor specific audio stations or songs byusing buttons and knobs — or givingextended attention to entertainmenttasks — can lead you to look away fromthe road frequently or for prolongedperiods, which may cause you to missseeing things on the road that you needto see. Avoid engaging in extendedsearching for specific items while driving.

Playing MP3 FilesThe CD30 MP3 audio system has MP3file playback capability. When playing a CD-R containing MP3 audio tracks, an MP3 label will be displayed.Radio Data SystemWhen you tune to a Radio Data System(RDS) station, the station name or callletters will appear on the display insteadof the frequency. Depending on the RDS station, additional text informationmay be available by pressing the RDSbutton.RDS features are available for use onlyon FM stations that broadcast RDSinformation. RDS relies on receivingspecific information from these stationsand will work only when the informationis available.See Section 6 of your Owner Manual.

Ignition LogicThe Ignition Logic feature enables theinfotainment system to turn on and offautomatically when the ignition is turnedon and off. If Ignition Logic is disabled, the infotain-ment system can be turned on only bypressing the (Power) knob or the

(CD Changer) button. If the infotainment system is turned offwhen the ignition is turned off, it canbe turned on only by pressing the (Power) knob or the (CD Changer)button, regardless of whether IgnitionLogic is enabled.To enable/disable Ignition Logic:1. Press the Settings button.2. Use the multifunction knob to enable

or disable the Ignition Logic checkbox.

3. Exit the Settings menu.Audio System FeaturesWhile most of the features on your radiowill look familiar, some of the followingmay be new:

• While listening to the radio, pressthe CDC buttons; then select thedesired CD.

To eject a CD(s):• Press the (CD Changer)

button; then select the desired CDcompartment.

• Or, to eject all CDs, press and holdthe (CD Changer) button; thenconfirm the function when promptedby pressing the multifunction button.

If a CD is not removed after severalseconds, it will be pulled back into theplayer automatically.

Playing MP3 FilesThe audio system has MP3 file playbackcapability. When playing a CD-R con-taining MP3 audio tracks, an MP3 labelwill be displayed.Radio Data SystemWhen you tune to a Radio Data System(RDS) station, the station name or callletters will appear on the display insteadof the frequency. RDS features areavailable for use only on FM stationsthat broadcast RDS information. RDSrelies on receiving specific informationfrom these stations and will work onlywhen the information is available.See Section 6 of your Owner Manual.

To navigate through the infotainmentsystem menus:1. Turn the multifunction knob on the

infotainment system to the right orrotate the left thumbwheel (ifequipped) on the steering wheeldown to highlight the next menu item.Turn the multifunction knob to the leftor rotate the left thumbwheel up toreturn to the previous menu item.

2. Press the multifunction knob or leftthumbwheel to select a highlightedmenu item.

3. Turn the multifunction knob or rotatethe left thumbwheel to scroll throughthe settings for the selected menuitem.

4. Press the multifunction knob or leftthumbwheel to make changes to thesettings.

5. Select the Main button or rotate themultifunction knob or the left thumb-wheel until Main is highlighted at thebottom of the display, and press toexit the menu item and return to themain menu.

CD ChangerTo load a CD(s): 1. Press the (CD Changer) button. 2. Turn the multifunction knob or left

thumbwheel to select an empty CDcompartment and follow the displayprompts to load each CD.

3. Press the CDC button to return to theCD menu.

To play a specific CD:• While listening to a CD, press the

appropriate number key or turn themultifunction knob to select thedesired CD compartment.

Note: CDs with any affixed labels mayjam in the CD player. Label a CD usinga permanent marker. If more than oneCD is inserted into the slot at one time,or if scratched or damaged CDs areplayed, the CD player could be dam-aged. When using the CD player, useonly CDs in good condition withoutlabels; load one CD at a time; and keepthe CD player and the loading slot freeof foreign materials, liquids or debris.

The Automatic Headlamp System turnson the headlamps and other exteriorlamps at night or when necessary. Thesystem uses a light sensor located ontop of the windshield to determine lightconditions.The light sensor also is used to activatethe Daytime Running Lamps, which willturn on under the following conditions:• The engine is running.• The light sensor determines it is

daytime.• The light sensor determines it is

night, and the exterior lamps controlis in the Off position.

Audio Steering Wheel Controls(if equipped)

The following audio controls are locatedon the steering wheel:

(Setting/Tuning): Rotate theleft thumbwheel on the steering wheelto manually tune in radio stations orselect preset stations. This control alsoprovides the same functions as themultifunction knob on the infotainmentsystem.

(Station Memory/CD): Press thisbutton on the left side of the steeringwheel to go to the next stored radio sta-tion, restart the CD, or go to the next CD(if equipped).

(Source): Press this button on theleft side of the steering wheel to switchto CD operation.

(Search) (if equipped): Press theup or down arrow button on the right

side of the steering wheel to go to thenext or previous radio station with astrong signal. When a CD is playing,press the up or down arrow button to goto the next or previous track.

Multifunction Lever – Turn andLane Change Signal/HeadlampBeam Changer/Cruise Control

The multifunction lever on the left sideof the steering column controls the turnand lane change signals, high/low beamheadlamps and cruise control.Turn and Lane Change SignalAfter activation, the multifunction leverwill return to the starting position. It willnot remain in an up or down position.• To signal a lane change, raise or

lower the lever slightly until the arrowon the instrument panel cluster startsto flash; then release the lever. Donot move the lever past the detent.The turn signal will automatically flashthree times and turn off.

• To signal a turn, move the lever allthe way up or down, past the detent.The turn signal will cancel after com-pleting the turn. To cancel it beforeturning, move the lever slightly ineither direction (do not pass thedetent).

Headlamp Beam Changer• To change the headlamps from low

to high beam, push the multifunctionlever toward the instrument panel.Push the lever again or pull it towardyou to return to the low-beamheadlamps.

• To flash the high-beam headlamps,pull the multifunction lever toward youmomentarily.

Cruise Control

Setting Cruise Control1. Press and hold the (On/Off)

button on the back end of the leverfor two seconds to turn on cruisecontrol. “CC On” will appear on theodometer display when the button isreleased.

2. When traveling at the desired speed,press the (Set/Accelerate) buttonon the end of the lever. The (Cruise Control) symbol will illuminatein the instrument panel cluster.

Adjust or Cancel Cruise Control• To decrease the set speed, press the

(Resume/Coast) button.• To increase the set speed, press the

(Set/Accelerate) button.

• To cancel cruise control, step lightlyon the brake pedal or clutch pedal(if equipped) or press the (On/Off)button momentarily. The set speedwill remain in memory.

• To resume the set speed, press the(Resume/Coast) button.

• To turn off cruise control, press andhold the (On/Off) button on theback end of the lever for two sec-onds. “CC Off ” will appear on theodometer display.

Rainsense™ Wipers andWashers

The Rainsense windshield wipers usea moisture sensor on the windshield todetect moisture, such as rain, snowor dew. The system will automaticallyactivate the wipers and increase ordecrease wiper speed based on theamount of moisture on the windshield.

To operate the wipers and washers, usethe lever located on the right side of thesteering column. After activation, thelever will return to the starting position.It will not remain in an up or downposition.

Activate the Windshield Wipers• Press the lever up slightly (do not

pass the detent) to activate the nexthigher wiper mode:- - (Intermittent/Rainsense) mode– (Low) mode= (High) mode

• Press the lever down slightly to acti-vate the next lower wiper mode (High,Low, Intermittent/Rainsense, Off).

Low and High Modes• The – (Low) mode also can be

activated by pressing the lever upfully one time (past the detent). Pressthe lever down fully one time (pastthe detent) to turn off the wipers.

• The = (High) mode also can beactivated by pressing the lever upfully two times (pass the detent).Press the lever down fully one time toactivate the Low mode or press thelever down fully two times to turn offthe wipers.

Mist• When the wipers are off, press the

lever down once for a single wipe.Washer• Pull the lever toward you to spray

washer fluid ( ) on the windshield.Intermittent/Rainsense Mode DelayTo set the delay (sensitivity level) for theIntermittent/Rainsense mode:1. With the wipers off, press down and

hold the lever for the desired timeinterval.

2. Release the lever.3. Press up the lever to activate the

Intermittent/Rainsense mode with thenew sensitivity level.

Rear Window Wiper/WasherThe rear wiper adjusts with the wind-shield wipers. • To turn the rear wiper on or off,

push the wipers lever toward theinstrument panel ( ).

The rear wiper also turns on automati-cally when the windshield wipers areturned on and the shift lever is inReverse.• To spray washer fluid on the rear

window, push and hold the wiper levertoward the instrument panel ( ).

Sunroof (if equipped)

The sunroof and sunshade switches arelocated on the overhead console.Sunroof• To vent the sunroof from the closed

position, press and release the rearpart ( ) of the driver-side switch.

• To express open the sunroof from thevent position, press and release therear part ( ) of the driver-sideswitch. The sunshade will open withthe sunroof.

To adjust the position of an outsidepower mirror:1. Press the left or right side of the

selector switch (A), located on thedriver’s door, to select either the leftor right outside rearview mirror.

2. Press the four-way control pad (B)to adjust the position of the mirror.

The power window switches are locatedon the driver’s door armrest, and individ-ual window switches are located oneach door.Express Down Windows• To operate the Express Down feature,

press and release the desiredwindow switch fully and the windowwill lower automatically. To stop thewindow, pull or press on the switchmomentarily.

• Press the switch partway to lower thewindow a small amount.

• To lower all windows at once, pressand hold the Unlock button on theRemote Keyless Entry transmitterwith the vehicle unlocked.

Window Lockout (5-Door Modelsonly)• Slide the (Window Lockout)

switch forward to prevent the rearwindows from operating. Slide theswitch rearward to turn off the lockoutfeature.

side of the seatback.3. Fold down the seatback.

Folding Rear Seats

To raise the rear seatback, first confirmthe safety belts are properly secured inthe side clip; then lift up the seatbackand ensure it fully latches.

Automatic Transmission WinterDriving Mode (if equipped)

Winter Driving ModeThe winter driving mode reduces theamount of torque at the front wheels anddirects the transmission to start in thirdgear. This reduces the tendency forthe drive wheels to slip on low-tractionsurfaces.

• Press the (Winter Driving Mode)button, located on the center console,to turn the winter driving mode on oroff.

The (Winter Driving Mode) light onthe instrument panel cluster will illumi-nate when the winter driving mode isactive. Once the vehicle is moving,the transmission will shift normally.Winter driving mode is deactivated if thetransmission is shifted to second (2) orfirst (1) gear manually.See Section 8 of your Owner Manual.

Automatic Transmission Neutral Idle

The automatic transmission shifts intoneutral at complete stops to helpreduce fuel consumption when thevehicle is not moving.The neutral idle function is activatedwhen the transmission is in Drive (D),third (3), second (2), or first (1) gear, thebrake pedal is depressed, the vehicle isstationary, the accelerator pedal is notdepressed, the road is not steeper than15° and the transmission fluid tempera-ture is greater than 32°F (0°C). Thetransmission will automatically engagewhen the brake pedal is released.See Section 8 of your Owner Manual.

Automatic TransmissionDownhill Grade Assist

When traveling down steep grades, theautomatic transmission may automati-cally downshift into a lower gear whenthe brake is applied. You may feel thisdownshift. This performance featureassists with engine braking to reducewear on the brake system. See Section 8 of your Owner Manual.

StabiliTrak® – Stability ControlSystem (if equipped)

StabiliTrak is an advanced computer-controlled vehicle stability and tractionenhancement system that assists withdirectional control of the vehicle indifficult driving conditions by reducingengine power and applying the brakes toindividual wheels. It turns on automati-cally every time you start your vehicle.To limit wheelspin and help maintaindirectional control, you should alwaysleave the system on. However, if yourvehicle becomes stuck and rocking thevehicle is required, the system shouldbe turned off.

• To turn off the StabiliTrak system,press and hold the (StabiliTrakOff) button, located on the centerconsole, until the indicator light illumi-nates in the button. Press the buttonagain to turn on the system.

Tire Pressure Monitor

The Tire Pressure Monitor alerts youwhen a significant reduction in pressureoccurs in one or more of your vehicle’stires by illuminating the (Low TirePressure) warning light on the instru-ment panel cluster. The low tire pressurewarning light will remain on until youcorrect the tire pressure.

Correcting the Tire PressureWhen the low tire pressure warning lightilluminates, you must inflate the tire tothe proper tire pressure (just as youmust refuel the vehicle when the lowfuel warning light illuminates). The Tireand Loading Information label shows the correct tire pressure for the tires whenthey’re cold. “Cold” means your vehiclehas been sitting for at least three hoursor driven no more than one mile.During cooler conditions, the low tirepressure warning light may appear whenthe vehicle is first started and then turnoff as you start to drive. This could bean early indicator that your tire pres-sures are getting low and the tires needto be inflated to the proper pressure.

Note: The Tire Pressure Monitor canalert you about low tire pressure, but itdoesn’t replace normal monthly tiremaintenance.

Resetting the Service IntervalDisplay

Your vehicle has a service intervaldisplay on the instrument panel cluster.Vehicle service intervals, includingengine oil life, are calculated based onvehicle use and mileage and the InSPwarning appears when service isrequired. To reset the service interval:1. With the ignition turned off, press the

instrument panel cluster reset buttonto display the trip odometer.

2. Press and hold the reset button.

Summer Performance Tires (3-Door Models only, if equipped)

Your vehicle may be equipped with summer performance tires, which offerexcellent handling characteristics in dryor wet weather. However, during wintermonths, it’s recommended to switch towinter or all-season tires that will provideadditional traction in poor weather condi-tions such as ice or snow. See yourSaturn retailer for information aboutrecommended winter or all-season tires.

3. Turn on the ignition. InSP will flash onthe odometer display.

4. Continue to press and hold the resetbutton for at least 20 seconds untilInSP stops flashing and “- - -”appears on the display.

5. Release the stem and the newservice interval mileage is displayed.

Note: Summer-only tires tend to wearfaster and are more susceptible to dam-age from road hazards or curb impactthan standard profile tires.
