R12 Directory Structure
Applications Tier Oracle Applications Release 12 introduces a new file system structure
The new structure enables Oracle Applications files to be placed into one of the
following categories, and located accordingly:
Data
Code
Configuration
Configuration files are typically modified more frequently than code and data files
Keeping configuration files separate from code and data simplifies administration and
maintenance

E-Business Suite Diagnostics
The Support Diagnostics are a free set of tools from Oracle Support that help gather and
analyze information from your Apps environment for an existing issue or setup.
The Diagnostics perform non-invasive queries against your environment and provide
formatted reports displaying the information gathered, the findings of the analysis and
appropriate actions to take, if necessary.
Used more extensively in SR resolution with R12
Include in R12 Release Update Packs
Diagnostic Categories
Setup Diagnostic Tests: designed to assist in resolving product setup issues
Activity Diagnostic Tests: gather information about data and configuration relevant to a
particular functionality / issue, examine that information, provide feedback, and suggest
appropriate actions Data Collection Tests: gather information relevant to a particular product / functionality / issue
Functional Categories Tests: typically align with the product menu structure and include both
