Dear Coach/Administrator,
Louisiana State University is pleased to make available this Visitor Basketball Operations
Guide. The material provided is to familiarize you and your team with the various attributes and
operational conditions associated with a LSU Men's Basketball event at the Pete Maravich As-
sembly Center. The LSU Athletics Department is committed to ensuring a high standard of ath-
letic excellence for all home events so we hope you find the subject matter useful and informa-
tive.
Included in this guide is Contact Information, Facility Information (directions, maps …etc), a
Sample of the Pre Game Timing Format, Travel Information, and a Team Travel Form and
Complimentary Ticket Form. In preparation for your visit, please take a few moments to review
these documents and share with appropriate personnel.
Upon receiving this packet, please complete the enclosed travel form and return to the Director
of Basketball Operations - Chris Bobel (basketball office fax #225-578-1293). The sooner
we receive your information, the more likely we will be able to assist with coordinating practice
times and/or other requests. We will gladly accommodate your schedule, when possible.
In addition, please remember, adjustments may be necessary based on local and/or national
events. Subsequent changes will be formulated depending on the situation and administrative

GENERAL TEAM
INFORMATION(A-Z)
ATHLETIC TRAINING The LSU Athletic Training Staff will provide your team locker room with water, cups, and a cooler with ice. A
hydrocollator will be placed in your locker room with moist heat packs. The Athletic Training Room at the PMAC
will be available based on necessity. In addition, the Broussard Training Room, located at Tiger Stadium, will be
available through the LSU Athletic Training Staff for emergent situations
A paramedic crew will also be available courtside for any emergency situations. They will be positioned at floor
level of the Northwest Corridor of the Maravich Center.

BENCH LOCATION The visiting team bench will be located on the east side bench area (nearest the visiting team locker room). Please
see arena diagram on page 12 for your courtside bench area. Per SEC guidelines, “team benches shall consist of 22
seats. A maximum of five seats may be placed in a second row behind the bench (if room is available); however
these seats must count toward the overall total of 22. All game personnel (i.e. coaches, players, manager, trainers,
etc.) must sit on the bench and have the appropriate credential.
CREDENTIALS Upon entry , LSU Event Management will provide visiting team staff with necessary credentials. Visiting team
managers and trainers will need to wear a credential for access to the restricted areas (courtside, locker room, and
any media rooms). Credentials must remain visible at all times and are non-transferable. Anyone caught abusing
or misusing working credentials, will be asked to leave the arena and may be reported to the SEC.

DRESSING ROOM Unless otherwise directed, the visiting team locker room will be #145E, which is located in the locker room hall-
way of the Northeast Corridor (a team sign will be posted). Upon arrival, LSU Event Management will direct team
and staff to their locker room. Please be advised, all visiting teams and coaches will have an exclusive locker
room, there are multiple locker rooms in the hallway that may be used for various promotional activities through
out the game. LSU Event Management will provide security and lock your locker room while you are on the court.

FILM AND VIDEO INFORMATION LSU will make available a position or arrange for adequate space for videotaping the game. Please contact Chris
Bobel (ph# 225-578-1228 or [email protected] ) for all information regarding videotaping procedures and
locations.
EQUIPMENT The LSU basketball team will assign team managers to work with the visiting team. They will make sure balls and
towels are provided at all times of team practice and/or team warm up. Please contact Chris Bobel if there are any
additional specific or special requests.

PARKING AND TEAM TRAVEL The visiting team bus will be allowed access to the reserved parking area of the Maravich Center - Parking Lot "I."
The team bus will park near the Northeast Entrance, positioned near the adjacent building. The area will either be
marked with parking barricades and/or someone will be available to show you where to park. Athletes and Coaches
will enter the Maravich Center through the Northeast Entrance (single door adjacent to the main roll-up door).
Please contact David A. Taylor prior to arrival for arrangements and details for team-related parking questions.
PRACTICE & PREGAME Please be sure to complete the visiting team travel form (page 10) and return as soon as possible and
forward to Chris Bobel, fax # 225-578-1293.
The visiting team will be allocated court times for pre game warm-up. Please refer to the Sample Game Protocol
listed on page 9 for a quick preview. (On game day, Game Protocols specific for each game will be posted
courtside and on the team locker room door). Chris Bobel will work with all visiting teams to arrange shoot around
times.
SECURITY LSU will provide a uniformed officer to escort and shadow the visiting team head coach at all times. He or she will
be assigned to sit behind the head coach on the visiting team bench at all times.
In addition, the team locker room area is a secure hallway and the general public will not be allowed access.
Following the game, any waiting family and friends will be directed outside to greet athletes/coaches near the team
bus.

SPORTS INFORMATION All visiting media should coordinate with Kent Lowe of LSU Sports Information for any specific needs.
TEAM TRAVEL Please see page 10 - Visiting Team Travel Form. The visiting team travel form needs to be completed and returned
as soon as possible. Please forward to Chris Bobel, and be sure to include the contact information of someone in
the travel party. A cell phone number must be provided in case we need to reach you prior to the contest.
TICKET OFFICE General Information - All doors will open 1½ hour prior to tip-off. Everyone age three (3) and older needs a
ticket to enter the Maravich Center. The 100-Level seats allocated to the visiting team are located directly behind
the visiting team bench. All rows run left to right (clockwise) looking up from court level, with seat #1 being the
leftmost seat of every section. Handicap Accessible tickets are limited, so please contact the LSU Ticket Office as
soon as possible for special requests.
SEC Policy, visiting cheerleaders and mascots will not have access to the arena floor and the must have tickets to
be seated in the arena.
Will Call - Paid and public will call and all ticket sales are handled at the upper concourse ticket office directly
across from Tiger Stadium. Visiting Team Will Call may be administered at the upstairs ticket windows or upon
request - tickets may be included at the visiting player guest admission gate.
Player Guest Admission - Visiting player guest admission is located at the lower southwest entrance. LSU
follows NCAA guidelines regarding player guest admission. Players' guests will be admitted only with picture
identification. You may provide an institutional representative to supervise your player guest admission. If you do
not have a representative to work your player guest entrance, the LSU ticket office will be happy to provide
assistance - please be sure to provide any special instructions and tickets.
