• Regular monthly Advisory Board (AB) meetings

• Committee structure

• Strategic planning meeting

• EVERYONE held responsible and accountable for a S.M.A.R.T. goal

What’s working out there now?• Connect business partners with kids (evolution of the

relationship)– Classroom presentations (an hour)

– Job shadowing (a half-day)

– Mentoring (once or twice a month)

– Student conferences / internship preparation (full day)

– Paid Internships (240 – 400 hours)

• Recognition as a reward

• You’ve got to ASK them!

– Give them a chance to say “YES”

• Pull at their heartstrings, before you pull at their purse strings

Stepping “Outside the Bun”

• Tutoring– Reading, math, other?

• Co-Mentoring middle-schoolers

• Summer camps
