The Loire Valley is an outstanding cultural
landscape of great beauty, containing historic
towns and villages, great architectural
monuments, its many châteaux, and �ne wines.
Centre Val de Loire & Pays de la Loire5 Days / 4 Nights
Day 1: Depart Paris with your rental car and
drive to Tours, the main city in the region of the
Loire Valley and a good place to begin. Spend
the �rst day exploring the capital of the Touraine
region, with an historic heart and elegant public
buildings. Settle in your hotel, the Domaine des
Bidaudières in Vouvray.
Day 2: Begin with one of the most beautiful of
the châteaux, Chenonceau, built for a mistress
and claimed by a queen. Stroll the elegant
gardens before continuing to Amboise and stop
at Le Clos-Lucé, the last home of Leonardo da
Vinci, where you can see models of his inventions.
Day 3: Today visit the largest of the Loire castles,
the Château de Chambord, with its remarkable
architecture and hundreds of rooms. Continue to
the Renaissance gardens of the Château de
Villandry, noted for their symmetrical beds and
intricate designs. For a jaunt o� the beaten path,
check out the town of Villaines-les-Rochers, an
entire village of basket makers, where local crafts
are alive and well.
Day 4 : Head for Chinon, birthplace of Rabelais
and yes, another castle, this one a fortress
dominating the hillside and the town. Continue to
Saumur to stop and taste the sparkling wine of
the region, or visit some of the troglodyte houses
and dwellings at Chênehutte-les-Tu�eaux or in
the village of Troo. Stop to see the Abbaye
Royale de Fontevraud, once a great and
powerful abbey, where Eleanor of Aquitaine and
her son, Richard the Lionhearted, were laid to rest.
Many gardens in this region are open for visitors.
Day 5: Morning at leisure. In the afternoon,
depart the Loire Valley and drive back to Paris
downtown or to CDG airport.

Normandy Self-Drive Package3 Days / 2 Nights
Day 1: Depart from Paris with your car rental and
drive to Normandy. Make a �rst stop in Giverny
to visit Monet’s gardens. Drive to Rouen and visit
its cathedral. In the afternoon, drive to Hon�eur,
a charming port and a town of �shermen, writers
and painters. Drive along the Floral coast and
visit Deauville, a famous seaside resort on the
coast. Stay overnight at the 3-star hotel Le

Day 2: Full day dedicated to the D-Day Beaches
through a journey into the heart of history and
hope for the future. Start your exploration of the
landing beaches where the American troops
landed on June 6, 1944. Then drive to Bayeux, a

Day 1: Take the TGV train from Paris to Bordeaux.
Arrive in Bordeaux and pick up your rental car.
Enjoy the rest of the day to discover at leisure the
city of Bordeaux. Visit the Bordeaux Wines
Museum for an introduction to the history of wine
or the Centre National Jean Moulin. You can also
visit Bordeaux Vinorama. Wine can be
purchased on the spot. Overnight in Bordeaux.
Day 2: Pick up your rental car and start your
discovery of Bordeaux vineyards. The Médoc is
one of the most famous wine regions in France,
and home to many well-known names. Follow the
route along the Gironde through Margaux and
Pauillac.
Day 3: Saint-Emilion is Bordeaux's largest wine
district and possibly it’s the most beautiful village.
Saint-Emilion wines are also quite distinctive from
those of the Médoc. Spend a day in the village
steep streets, medieval stone houses, and a
magni�cent church carved from the hillside and
visit the wineries in the surrounding area.
Day 4: The Sauternes district is composed of �ve
villages including Barzac, the largest, and the
area produces a wonderful sweet white wine
sometimes called "sunshine in a glass". Stop also
to see Château de Cazeneuve, which dates to
the 11th century.
Day 5: The Graves district reaches along the
south bank of the Garonne River from Bordeaux
and is known mainly for its white wines but also
some reds. Some of the best known here are
Château Haut-Brion and Château Smith-Haut-
La�tte. On the east bank, lies the Premières
Côtes de Bordeaux, still worth a visit, as is
St-Macaire, a lovely medieval village overlooking
the Garonne River.
Day 6: Morning at leisure to do last minute
shopping in Bordeaux. Drop o� your rental car
and take the TGV train to Paris.
