The 2010 Annual Used Book Sale will be held September 9-12 at Koelbel Library, 5955 S. Holly Street, Centennial, and will feature more than 40,000 books.
“The Arapahoe Library District’s Annual Used Book Sale is one of the largest in the area, and features quality books sorted into categories, making it easier for our custom-ers to browse books that might interest them,” said Thersa Dando, Friends Board Vice President and Book Sale Chair Person.
In addition to books, the sale also features other media, including CDs, videos, audio books on cassette, and a limited number of DVDs. Materials range in price from 50 cents for regular sized paperbacks, to $2.50 for hardbacks and oversized paperbacks.
Proceeds from the book sale will help sup-port important initiatives for the Library District, including Summer Reading, which serves more than 20,000 children, teen and adult patrons each year.
The Friends Again Used Book Store at Koelbel Library will be closed on Tuesday, September 7, and Wednesday, September 8, in preparation for the Annual Book Sale. Stirrings Coffee Shop will remain open.
For more information about the book sale, the Friends of the Library, or to volunteer, please contact Louise Richey at 303-792-8951 or [email protected].

Sheridan Library Update
Sheridan High School recently received a grant to re-model their building to improve security and will need to use our current Sheridan Public Library space to make these changes.
Therefore, the Sheridan branch of the Arapahoe Library District will move out of its current location by May 2011. To provide uninterrupted service to the Sheridan community, the Library District is working closely with the Sheridan School District in considering all options. We will continue to keep the public informed as we learn more.
If you have any questions, please contact Jessica Sidener, Manager of Communications, at [email protected] or 303-792-8999, extension 19101.

Homeschool Curriculum Fair
www.Arapahoelibraries.org
Smoky Hill Library, 5430 S. Biscay Circle, Centennial, will host a Homeschool Curriculum Fair on Friday, September 3 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
The fair provides an opportunity for homeschooling families to network with other families in order to sell or trade used curriculum. Parents interested in selling used curriculum
should register to reserve a table. Parents interested in simply attending the event do not need to register.
For more information or to register, call 303-LIBRARY (303-542-7279) or visit www.arapahoelibraries.org.
One of the most popular and widely-used features of the new website is the “Coming Soon” section.
Patrons can locate this section by logging on to www.arapahoelibraries.org. The top graphic on the home page is labeled “Coming Soon.” Next to this graphic are several in-depth Coming Soon lists, including books, movies and music.
Patrons can click on any of these icons to view titles that are coming soon or have newly arrived to the Arapahoe Library District.
In addition, clicking through to each of these sections offers the opportunity to browse additional list op-tions. For instance, “Coming Soon Books,” also provides Recently Ordered, Award-Winning, Bestselling and New and Notable lists, further organized by genre. Similar lists can be accessed in Movies and Music.
If you have questions or suggestions about the new website, please feel free to use the “Contact Us” form or make a comment on the Arapahoe Library District Website Updates Blog. Both links can be found at the bottom of the homepage. In addition, we can be reached via email at [email protected] or by phone at 303-LIBRARY (303-542-7279).
