I attended my first videoconference at the CLC inLaval Liberty HS. Extreme high tech! Cameras, video equipment, speakers, screens, everything! The health literacy videoconference involved 8
off-site locations across the province and wasbroadcast from the Montreal Childrens Hospital.
This conference was put together by Literacy Vol-unteers of Quebec and the subject was HealthLiteracy. It was so interesting. The public, themedical professionals and the health institutionstold us how we all need to work together to findsolutions for people with low literacy skills to improve the care they receive regarding health. Forseveral years I have been looking into ideas for our students and our tutors to help themselveswhen dealing with health issues. I will continue to keep researching the needs of our learners.
On Friday May 21st some Learning Exchange stu-dents and myself went on an outing to the Cosmo-dome Space Center in Laval. We were taken on aguided tour, took part in a science project andlearned about Canadas space arm! Everyone had a

TLE's Family Literacy Committee has been very activein the past few months with two Storytime evenings atJules Verne and Souvenir Elementary, as well as readingactivities at Genesis and Crestview Elementary. A bigthank you to all the volunteers of the Family LiteracyCommittee! Through your efforts, you have brought the
joys of literacy to many children and have instilled inthem a love for reading. In particular, we would like to thank ValerieSauriol for all of the time she donated into organizing these activities. Herdedication and commitment lead her to go far beyond the call of duty andwe would like her to know that it has not gone unnoticed.
