• Calibre. Calibre is an open source ebook reader, and ebook library manager, that can read EPUB !les. It works with Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. It stores your ebooks; and converts ebooks in various !le formats (such as text, html, PDF) to EPUB without harming the original !les. • Stanza from Lexcycle. Stanza comes in a number of editions; to read EPUB on your desktop computer or laptop, you want what is called “Stanza Desktop.” Download the soware, install it, and then you can begin to read the EPUB ebooks. Currently, the desktop version is free and in beta; the company once stated that they might begin to charge for the desktop version. At the end of April 2009, Stanza was acquired by Amazon.com. • Adobe Digital Editions. Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) is an ebook (and edocument) reader, and an ebook library manager. ADE can read EPUB ebooks, and the PDF version known as PDF/A.
