Quarter 2 (November 2011 – January 2012): • Vice Principal completed “Why Try” Training • “Why Try” Pilot Plan: • Identify most at-risk freshmen • Hold small group pre-screening meeting • Select dozen students for pilot program to be completed by 5 Feb. • First and second quarter Project Connect teacher anecdotal surveys conducted with 2/3 of

teachers responding (indicating their Project Connect efforts improved 50% to 100% of their selected students)

• AIM Report held intervention meetings with 172 students interventions, continue to rank among top 3 of District high schools in positive attendance, averaging 95.73 to 99.86 per ADA month

• Most iLead senior mentors meeting with their freshmen, i.e. study hall for finals etc. • Follow-up questionnaire mailed (yet to be collated) • Meeting logistics difficult in the pilot program

Scouts • Booster plans include: Beautifying the entry, replacing tile with student-produced tiles,

Quarter 2 (November 2011 – January 2012): • Following the guidelines of our Professional Development book, each department

developed common assessments for most classes • Many classes conducted assessments • Several departments still need to discuss outcomes and make plans for reviewing and

norming assessment results • 17 January Joint Leadership/Department Chair Meeting determined departments to

share key aspects of their assessments in a General Staff Meeting: kind of thinking assessed, tasks demonstrating that thinking, mastery threshold, grading method and assessment format
