Jon Ambler is Vice President, Corporate Rela ons for BNSF Railway. He previously served Fleishman-Hillard as senior vice president and partner. Prior to joining Fleishman-Hillard, Ambler held the role of global leader, Communica on and Public Affairs, with GE Energy (2005-2006) and several vice president roles with Enron subsidiary

companies between 1998-2004, having responsibility in public affairs, global communica on and govern-ment affairs.

Meredith Artley is vice president and managing editor of CNN Digital, where she oversees all editorial ini a ves for CNN.com and CNN Mobile. She joined CNN in October 2009 and is based in Atlanta.

Before joining CNN, Artley was a managing editor for the Los Angeles Times and the execu ve editor of LATimes.com. Prior to joining the Los

Angeles Times, she served as the editor and digital development director for the Interna onal Herald Trib-une’s web opera on in Paris.

She began her journalism career at NYTimes.com, where she pioneered web journalism in the early days, eventually managing the editorial team that con nuously published the #1 newspaper site on the web. She was also a member of the Pulitzer prize winning team for the NYT's “Race in America” series in 2000.

In addi on to proudly serving on the advisory council for the communica ons department at the College of Charleston, she is also on the boards of the Online News Associa on and the Global Editors Network.

Meredith graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in broadcast journalism and also

Catherine Babington recently re red as vice president, Public Affairs and presi-dent of the Abbo Fund. She joined Abbo on April 13, 1987, and has held vari-ous management posi ons in Corporate Marke ng, Branding, Investor Rela ons and Public Affairs.

Prior to joining Abbo , she was with Ruder, Finn and Rotman Public Rela ons and the American Diete c Associa on.

Babington is a trustee of the University of Dayton. She also is a member of the board of directors of the

Arthur W. Page Society, and the Clara Abbo Founda on.

She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton and a master’s degree in business

administra on from Loyola University of Chicago.

Babington was born in Binghamton, N.Y., on September 14, 1952 and resides in north suburban Chicago.

EDWARD BARBINI

Vice President, External Rela ons

IBM

Edward Barbini is Vice President of External Rela ons for IBM, overseeing all of IBM's strategies and dealings with media, analysts and key influencers

worldwide, as well as being ac vely involved in all corporate external rela ons in diverse fields such as shareholder communica ons. He also oversees IBM’s strategy and execu on of Social Media communica ons.

Ed is a 17-year veteran of IBM, and has worked in a variety of IBM's opera ng units, with posi ons including head of communica ons and public rela ons for IBM's So ware, Personal Systems, Enterprise Systems and Technology Groups, where he has been responsible for overseeing media rela ons, execu ve and internal communica ons and IT analyst rela ons.

He is a member of IBM's Integra on and Values Team, and regularly counsels IBM's clients on crisis

communica ons and media rela ons issues.

Prior to joining IBM, Ed worked as a reporter for the Newhouse News Service and in government, where he worked in the press offices of New York City Mayors Edward I. Koch and David Dinkins, and served as Press Secretary to New York State A orney General Robert Abrams. Ed also oversaw the media rela ons efforts for the Na onal Associa on of A orneys General during his government work. He earned B.A. and M.S. degrees from Columbia University, and has served on the Advancement Board of the Congrega on of

JEANNIE BUNTON

Vice President, External Rela ons Group

Interna onal Center for Research on Women (ICRW)

Jeannie Bunton is Vice President of the External Rela ons Group for the Interna on-al

Center for Research on Women (ICRW), a global think tank (headquartered in Wash-ington, D.C., with an Asia Regional Office in New Delhi, India and project offices in Mumbai and Nairobi, Kenya) dedicated to improving the lives of women in develop-

ing countries. In this role, she oversees ICRW’s communica ons and advocacy ini a ves. She also serves as a member of the founda on’s

management team.

She formerly was Vice President of Strategic Communica ons at the Securi es Industry and Financial

Markets, Wall Street’s trade associa on, where she prepared and executed long-term, integrated media and outreach strategies to raise awareness of SIFMA and the Founda on for Investor Educa on, its non-profit affiliate, financial educa on resources.

Prior to joining SIFMA, she was a senior counselor at Policy Impact, a public rela ons and lobbying firm, where she headed its non-profit prac ce serving clients, drawing on her extensive background as a

journalist, speechwriter and spokeswoman for a na onal, Washington-based nonprofit organiza on.

Before joining Policy Impact, Jeannie was Director of Press and Public Affairs for the Corpora on for Public Broadcas ng, the en ty created by Congress to oversee the annual federal appropria on to the na on’s public radio and television sta ons.

Prior to CPB, Jeannie served as a White House aide to President George H.W. Bush in the Office of Media Affairs and the Office of Presiden al Speechwri ng. She first came to Washington as a legisla ve assistant to Rep. Arthur Ravenel Jr. (R-SC). Before leaving South Carolina, Jeannie and two partners founded a weekly newspaper, The Blu on Eccentric, where she served for four years as editor.

Jeannie has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in public communica ons, wri ng and public

speaking at the American University School of Communica ons in Washington. She graduated with honors (Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of South Carolina. She holds a masters in communica on from the American University.

Since 2002, David Campbell has served as the president and chief opera ng officer of Chernoff Newman, one of the top full-service adver sing, public rela ons and mar-ke ng communica ons firms in the Southeast, where he oversees day-to-day opera-

ons of the firm in Columbia, SC and its branch offices in Charleston, Pawleys Island and Orlando, FL.

With a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administra on from Mississippi State University, a Master of Business Administra on from George Washington University and more than 20 years experience in the financial

industry, David successfully nego ated and integrated the merger between Chernoff/Silver and Newman Saylor & Gregory, two of the largest integrated communica ons agencies in South Carolina, as well as the later acquisi on of ASA in Charleston, S.C. In addi on to David’s wealth of experience in marke ng and adver sing, he also lends his financial services exper se to clients in the form of strategic consul ng.

Ac vely involved in the community, David was appointed by the Governor of South Carolina as the

Commissioner of the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs; he serves on the Board of Directors for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Founda on, the Board of Trustees for Claflin University, the Advisory Board for the Na onal Bank of South Carolina and is the Past Chair of Richland County CASA, which was formerly Guardian Ad Litem. LOU CAPOZZI

Lou Capozzi serves as an adjunct professor in the New York University Master of Science program in Public Rela ons and Corporate Communica ons, teaching courses in business skills, as well as the management of public rela ons, both in-

house and in consultancy firms.

Un l his re rement last year, Lou was chairman of the Publicis Public Rela ons and Corporate

Communica ons Group, which includes all of the public rela ons firms and related agencies in the world’s 4th-largest communica ons holding company. He had been CEO of MS&L, one of the world’s largest public rela ons firms, when it was acquired by Publicis in 2002. He joined the firm in 1990 as director of crea ve and strategic development, and was named CEO in 1997. Under Lou’s leadership, MS&L tripled in size and expanded its network to include 31 offices worldwide.

Lou was formerly vice president of corporate communica ons for Aetna Life & Casualty , the na on's

largest public insurer, He spent eight years there, managing adver sing, corporate and marke ng public rela ons, financial and shareholder communica ons, employee communica ons and investor

rela ons support.

A journalism graduate of New York University, he holds an MBA in Finance from Bernard Baruch Graduate School of Business. Lou serves as president of the Interna onal Communica ons Consultancy Organisa on (ICCO), where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame last year. ICCO represents over 1,000 public rela ons consul ng firms in 27 countries. He was a founding board member of the U.S. Council of PR firms, and chaired that organiza on in 2000. He is an accredited member of PRSA and a member of its College of Fel-lows. Widely published in professional and business journals, Lou is also a frequent speaker at public rela-

ons industry events.

As managing partner and co-founder of Peppercom, Steve is responsible for overall agency direc on and management, new business development, new product development and agency marke ng. Since founding the agency in 1995, he has been instrumental in Peppercom's rise from a two-person start-up to its current

posi on as one of the na on's best known mid-sized strategic communica ons firms. Along with strategic consultant Dr. Richard Harte, Steve has wri en a book on Pain-based Selling, “What’s Keeping Your Custom-ers Up at Night?” published by McGraw-Hill. He was also one of the CEOs featured in Donald Trump’s book “Trump: The Way to the Top.” Over the past 14 years, he has directed Peppercom’s rapid evolu on into one of the country's ho est mid-sized agencies. Jim Dyke, President, has more than 15 years of experience working with Fortune 100 and 500 companies, public policy makers and na onal and statewide poli cal campaigns. His track record of helping companies develop strategies that

services providers.

In addi on to his role at Jim Dyke & Associates, Jim served as Senior Communica ons Advisor to the Rudy Giuliani Presiden al campaign and as a communica ons advisor to President George W. Bush and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist.

Tucker Eskew is a founding partner of ViaNovo, an interna onal management and

communica ons consul ng firm with offices in Aus n, Texas; Dallas, Texas;

Washington, D.C.; and Monterrey, Mexico. With twenty-five years' experience in

state-level and presiden al poli cs, as well as interna onal communica ons, Tucker leads the firm's Washington office, overseeing the development and execu on of

strategic communica ons programs for corporate and public policy ini a ves.

From grassroots America to the global informa on climate, Tucker has served as both high-stakes strategist and high-visibility spokesman, developing messages and tac cs to lead opinion during the most intense

public debates of the new century. He played leadership roles during the Afghanistan and Iraq wars; in the 2000 campaign and recount; for the Bush-Cheney re-elec on, and for the McCain-Palin campaign, where he served as counselor to the vice-presiden al nominee.

Michael Ian Fanning currently serves as Director, Sustainable Development for Michelin-France. He previously served as vice president of corporate affairs for Michelin North America where he was responsible for corporate communica ons, government affairs, and media planning and buying for the North American opera ons of Michelin Group, the worldwide leader in the re industry and mobility-related service markets. Fanning joined Michelin in 1999

following execu ve communica ons assignments with Liberty Corp., The Reader’s Digest Associa on, IBM and the Associated General Contractors of America. From Michelin’s North American headquarters in Greenville, S.C., Fanning oversees six core areas in Canada, Mexico and the United States: image and brands, employee communica ons, government affairs, community rela ons, public rela ons, and media planning and buying. MIKE FERNANDEZ

Fernandez, the most senior corporate affairs official for Cargill, oversees global government rela ons, internal and external communica ons, corporate responsibility, knowledge management, and corporate brand management. Mike Fernandez formerly served as State Farm’s chief communica ons officer, leading the company’s efforts associated with corporate reputa on and

strategic communica ons. Prior to joining State Farm in 2006, Fernandez led the public rela ons func on at three other Fortune 500 companies. He served as senior vice president and chief communica ons officer for ConAgra Foods, where he also led the company’s marke ng services and sponsorship units. Before that, he served as senior vice president of public affairs at CIGNA, where he had responsibility for government affairs and investor rela ons; and before that he served as vice president of public rela ons at US WEST, where he helped lead the company’s efforts with the 2000 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City. Before leading the public rela ons func on at these companies, Fernandez worked in public rela ons and marke ng at Eastman Kodak Company and, on Capitol Hill, was a public policy analyst with the U.S. House of Representa ves’ House Democra c Study Group and a press secretary to former U.S. Senator Ernest F. Sara Lee Corpora on

Jon Harris is the senior vice president of global communica ons for Sara Lee Corpora on (NYSE: SLE). He is responsible for worldwide external and internal corporate

communica ons, public rela ons, crisis communica ons, community affairs, The Sara Lee Founda on and events management.

Jon joined the company in 2005 as vice president of North American Food and Beverage and Foodservice communica ons. Prior to this, Jon served as vice president of media development and communica ons at Bally Total Fitness worldwide. His responsibili es included all aspects of communica ons and external affairs. In 2001, he assumed responsibility for Bally’s marke ng communica ons, where he created and managed award-winning, mul -level business development and communica ons strategies and programs for the Corpora on and its six brands.

Before joining Bally Total Fitness, Jon held a variety of communica ons posi ons, including senior manager and manager for The Pepsi-Cola Company. He also served in senior account management posi ons for Ketchum Public Rela ons and Medicus Public Rela ons in New York.

Jon is ac vely involved in philanthropic efforts. He serves on the board of directors for Gilda’s Club, a

na onal cancer concern, and Common Threads, a non-profit dedicated to educa ng inner-city youths on cultural differences through the culinary arts. Jon also serves on the board of directors of Chicago’s popular Lookingglass Theatre, an inven ve, collabora ve and transforma ve theater company.

BILL HEYMAN

Bill Heyman manages senior level searches for blue-chip and emerging compa-nies,

leading public rela ons firms, non-profit organiza ons, and government agen-cies.

He serves as a trustee of the Ins tute for Public Rela ons, the Lagrant Founda on, a Los-Angeles-based

organiza on that awards scholarships to minority students planning to major and pursue a career in public rela ons, and the Partnership for New York City.

He is also an inaugural member of the advisory board for The Plank Center for Leadership in Rela ons in the College of Communica on & Informa on Sciences at the University of Alabama. Further, in conjunc on with the University of Alabama, Bill ini ated a groundbreaking study that reveals the factors of success in the field of communica ons. The study is one of the few to probe this issue in regard to public rela ons and is perhaps the first to conduct the research from the perspec ve of the industry’s leaders. Bill co-authored a paper based on this study, which was published in the inaugural issue of the Interna onal Journal of

Strategic Communica ons. In 2005, the Interna onal Communica on Associa on had honored the paper with the “Robert L. Heath Top Paper Award.”

ANDY HILTON

Communica ons Director

In September 2009, Andy Hilton was named communica ons director for ITT Water & Wastewater, the largest business in the ITT Corpora on por olio. From head-quarters in Stockholm, Sweden, Andy leads a global department that supports cus-tomer and employee communica ons in more than 40 countries and serves on the company’s execu ve leadership team.

Prior to his current assignment, Andy was director of public rela ons for ITT Corpora on since June 2007, based at the company’s global headquarters in White Plains, N.Y. John Palmer is currently involved with television documentaries, commercial films and videos, special events, and speaking engagements for colleges and private organiza ons.

During his four decades in broadcast news, Palmer covered breaking stories throughout the world. As White House Correspondent for NBC News, he covered Presidents Bush, Clinton, Reagan and Carter. Palmer also served as news Anchor for the Today Show in

New York for 7 years and later hosted a weekly series for the Discovery channel and anchored the Chris an Sci-ence Monitor's daily na onal news broadcast, "World Monitor with John Palmer".

On the evening of April 25, 1980, broadcas ng live from the north lawn of the White House, Palmer broke the first news reports of the aborted rescue a empt of American hostages in Iran. For breaking that story and his subsequent repor ng, Palmer's colleagues in the White House press corps honored him with the Merriam Smith Award for Excellence in Presiden al news coverage—the first broadcast news journalist to receive that coveted award.

On January 28, 1986, Palmer anchored the first hours of NBC's coverage of the Challenger Space Shu le tragedy. In 1998, he wrote and anchored the highly acclaimed one-hour NBC News documentary, "The Pension Cookie Jar."

Prior to his White House assignment, Palmer was posted in Beirut, where he covered the 1973 Arab-Israeli war, the Arab oil embargo, the war in Cyprus and the civil war in Angola. His coverage of the figh ng in Lebanon won him the Na onal Headliners Award. Palmer was chief NBC News Correspondent in Paris from 1976 to 1979.

For his repor ng on the famine in Africa, Palmer received the Overseas Press Club Award and a na onal Emmy. He also received am Emmy for his repor ng on American's space program and in January of 1990 received the Dis nguished Service in Broadcas ng Award from the College of Journalism at the University of Georgia.

During the 1990 television season, Palmer anchored the daily na onally syndicated news program, "Instant Recall" which featured interviews with prominent people who played significant roles in major news events during the past three decades, including Presidents Carter, Reagan, Ford, Egyp an President Sadat, former Sec. of State Kissinger, scien st Jonas Salk, astronaut Alan Sheppard and test pilot Chuck Yeager.

Palmer began his broadcas ng career in 1960 at WSB-TV in Atlanta. He joined NBC News in Chicago in 1962 and was subsequently based in New York, Tel Aviv, Beirut , Paris and Washington. Palmer is a na ve of Kingsport , Tennessee. He graduated from Northwestern University and received a master's degree from Columbia University. He has been awarded several honorary doctoral degrees.

Palmer was named "Father of the Year" in Communica ons by the Na onal Father's Day Commi ee in 1987. (He says, if his kids could have voted, he never would have made it!) He, his wife and three daughters make their home in Washington, D.C.

Prior to Centex, David was the chief communica ons officer at Regions Financial, a top-10 bank holding company with $142 billion in assets, 2,000 branches and 37,000 employees. He has a masters’ degree in communica on from Regent University. He is the founding chair of the Communica ons Advisory Council at the College of Charleston, and is a member of the board of directors of Philabundance, one of the na on’s largest metropolitan hunger relief organiza ons. David lives in Center City Philadelphia with his wife of 32 years, Susan.

Judy DeRango Wicks, APR, is Vice President of Corporate Communica ons for Fiserv (NASDAQ: FISV), the leading global provider of financial services technology solu ons. In this role, Wicks oversees media rela ons, and corporate and execu ve visibility worldwide including the company’s speaker’s bureau.

Wicks headed corporate communica ons for CheckFree Corpora on, which was acquired by Fiserv in December 2007. Since joining CheckFree in 1999, Wicks and her team focused on promo ng the benefits of receiving and paying bills online, and visibility for these services at more than 3,000 partner sites such as Bank of America, US Bank, Wells Fargo, Wachovia and SunTrust, and hundreds of billers that offer CheckFree e-Bills. Upon Fiserv’s acquisi on of CheckFree, Wicks added responsibility for Fiserv’s business unit media rela ons and industry analyst rela ons in 2008, and led the media rela ons track of the 2008 PayItGreen campaign, sponsored by NACHA and leading banks, to educate consumers on the environmental benefits of turning off paper bills and statements. Fiserv has renewed its Founder level sponsorship of Pay It Green in 2009.

CheckFree received the 2002 and 2004 Silver Anvil Award, and the 2006 Award of Dis nc on, in the Marke ng Consumer Services / Technology category from the Public Rela ons Society of America, the highest award in the public rela ons profession, for consumer educa on about online banking and fraud preven on. Fiserv is a finalist in this category in 2009 for its fraud preven on and green campaigns.

Prior to this, Wicks was Vice President of Ketchum Crescent, Atlanta, where she oversaw the IBM So ware Group account as the agency supported IBM’s evolu on to an e-business, business partner, and global alliance focus from 1993 - 1999. She served on the Nokia team in launching its Nokia Sugar Bowl sponsorship, and colored phones via the fashion and entertainment worlds. Wicks was Senior Account Execu ve at Ketchum Atlanta from 1989 – 1993 on the Lanier Worldwide, ATC Long Distance (acquired by LDDS, now MCI), Simmons and Sylvan Learning Centers accounts.

Wicks spent the 1980’s in Florida with Young & Rubicam, Orlando, and Bitner Public Rela ons, Fort Lauderdale. Clients included Carter-Wallace consumer brands including Spring Break marke ng; Stromberg-Carlson (Siemens); real estate developers William duPont III, Carnegie Proper es and Gulfstream Land & Development; Selkirk Cablevision; sports a orney Robert Frailey and his clients Payne Stewart and Ron Darling; and General Mills Restaurant Group. Wicks served on the team that brought the Orlando Magic franchise to Orlando, and her management of a poli cal campaign earned the 1988 Grand All Palm Beach award from the Florida Public Rela ons Associa on.

Wicks holds a Master of Journalism and Communica ons degree from the University of Florida, major in adver sing, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Stetson University. Following college, she spent five years in Florida as a high school English teacher and coach.
